Jon Lester is an ace. Aces stop losing streaks. Jon Lester will lead the Sox to a win this afternoon.

Hendu's Gait will be there; therefore, the Scarlet Hosiery win this one, without a doubt.

I hope the cockiness I saw in the first game thread of this series is done with. No matter how bad the White Sox have been recently, there are still not a bad team. And they should be treated as such. Danks is not an easy guy to beat- thankfully Boston has Lester to go against him.
I expect a close, low scoring game today, with neither pitcher imploding. Their offense is weak, the last few days not withstanding, so Boston should have the advantage. Especially if they can drive Danks' pitch count up and get to the pen around the sixth. And if the offense shows up today. Either way, the old phrase "He pitched well enough to win" is going to be said about one of these two before its over. Hopefully it'll be Danks.

It doesn't matter who's pitching this afternoon if the offense continues to masturbate.

Let's go, sticks. Do something besides suck today.

And Jon good luck with the groin.

Let's get some revenge on these guys after how they embarrassed us in the first two games. Jon, you are the man for the job.

Not even vs. a lefty...? A bit surprised to see Ortiz vs. Danks. Haven't checked their history.

This is the 3rd time in Lesters last 4 starts that Victors been his catcher, i guess he feels comfortable with him.

True, though Tek's hardly been shown to be a Beckett elixir.

However you slice it, though, I'm just grateful he isn't going to be in the line-up for both games.

Little victories.

I'd at least like to see Drew and Ortiz flipped if Ortiz just has to be in there.

This is our best lineup.
Hopefully, Big Papi wakes up today.
I love JD in the eight spot. That way there are guys who can run the bases ahead of Ells when the order flips over. Not like the order has flipped over any the last few days.

We have been lucky with Texas and DRays last couple of days. Games off the schedule when we both lose. Holland going for Texas today has been shaky and a rookie for the DRays good day to pick up some ground.

Its getting down to the wire, guys - so pedal to the metal for the stretch, kick Chicago's ass bigtime, and bring home the win.

GO SOX - WIN TODAY!

Maybe Tito's slowly weaning his pitchers off of Tek. Which is to say I really hope we don't see Jason Varitek in the playoffs.

You know, I took a closer look at Lester's numbers this morning and he's having every bit the great season that Sabathia, Verlander and Hernandez are having. It's going to be two years running that you can make the argument that he's been our best pitcher.

At this point this is just an anecdotal observation, but it does seem to me that Pedroia has not been patient at all in the last ten games or so and that is starting to take it's toll on the offense and on his overall numbers.

He needs to get back to seeing some pitches for everybody and himself.
