I used to send them game day emails, but for some reason they never responded.
Perhaps its was my use of the name "McDouchebag."

I haven't thought that since I was 10 years old.
The MLB network ran a special that showed a mention of base-ball in one of Jane Austen's books and in the diary of some guy in the late 1700's, also, there's the thing Jim Bouton touts about the late 1700's Pittsfield ordinance prohibiting the playing of baseball next to the town church.
But we're still supposed to believe that Abner Crabbitts, I mean, Doubleday just -poof- came up with the whole game on his own in the mid 1800's? Suuuuuuuuure.

I saw that actually. Got a kick out of the fact that it predates the earliest mention of Rounders.
Suck on that, Brits.

Edwin Jackson is sorely overrated. His FIP is 4.09, nothing special for a #2 guy, exactly one run above his ERA. His WPA is an average 3.55. He's got a BABIP of .281, 29 points below his career average. His fastball is average (-0.08 wFB/c), and while his change is fantastic, his slider and curve are garbage; especially the curve; its wCB/c is 3.35 Nothing but smoke and mirrors here.
I've always thought he'd make a good closer, though (Paps replacement, if not Bard?).

I can't take many more years of this.
Pretty sure a year or two ago, him and Buck announced on air during the playoffs that they had renewed their contracts (w/ laughter). He's probably on board a few more years.

That I doun't doubt. What I do doubt is his ability to hit balls opposite field over 400 feet when he doesn't even square up on the ball well.

The Nick Green walkoff against the Braves, and the Big Papi walkoff against the White Sox have been it right?

Would you trad Wake or Smoltz or Dice K or Penny for him? That's why you make that trade; it provides depth and tremendous upside. It's okay even IF he's over-rated due to his age, upside and cost.
Being objective, he does leave some to be desired but so do many of the stiffs on this team. If you have a chance to use DEPTH to steal a high end talent
that has yet to peak, you simply do it. Let idiot teams like the Mets go for 'stars only'.

While they were behind at points in both games, those were tie games at the time of the walk off. Not exactly the same thing.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that one. They also rallied from 4 down in the 9th the day after blowing the 9 run lead in Baltimore.

No. Youks walk-off against the Yanks early in April. Remember that one? Bay hit a shot off Rivera to tie it; Youks ripped one into the Monster to win.

As did Bay. Homer against Mo.

That was the same game. Bay homered in the 9th with 2 outs to tie it. Youkilis won it off of Marte.

Those were both the same game. Bay tied it in the ninth with a two run homer off Mo, then Youks won it an inning or two later.

Is this were the case, wouldn't Jeter have an MVP award on his mantle, and Rivera a Cy Young? Other than Bill Madden and Murray Chass, NYC has a pretty knowledgeable and unbiased group of writers.

Ehh. I don't know.
He'd have an MVP award by now if it weren't for the fact that each city in the league has two of its writers get a vote, IIRC. Ny city doesn't get any more influence than any other city unlike the city's media influence. That same group of writers took forever to admit that there were even questions about Jeter's fielding. Oddly enough, they never mentioned it when he completely sucked and now that he's somehow become okay, they're finally bringing it up.

"Now, when you are a home team on the road, and you are a losing road team, what you want to do is
be a winning road team on the road. To do this, you need to win more road games. Of course, on the flip
side, if you are a home team that wins a lot of road games, and you are home, hopefully
you don't lose at home or you might be a losing home team.
