That was fantastic, everything from the complete awkwardness with Jarvis Green blowing him off to telling Fred Taylor that "in the air tonight" is about watching someone drown was just so uncomfortable. It also appears as though it will be a regular gig for him, so there's epic potential here.

What happened for those of us who missed it?

Nope. Ellsbury's got 2 walks all month and has scored 1 run in the last nine games. He is absolutely killing this ballclub. You don't get to point to Coco and say My Guy's Better. That's like saying cancer is better than AIDS. They both suck. Smiling Joe Hesketh

I did catch that, that was fantastic.
I know several fans of theirs who actually don't like the new sports-centric setup at all. Most aren't sports fans so much, but are glad they're still on the air in general.

The questions and her answers:
Q: What is a bunt
A: I dont know, but I know what it is in football (?!?)
Q: What is a grand slam
A: a home run (they have her 1/2 point)
Q: What is a full count
A: 5 (yes, she must have heard her friend say 3 and 2 and she added them)
Q: Name a catcher on the Red Sox
A: Ortiz (her friend said good answer)
Q: What is the wild card
A: The player least likely to score
Then T&R starting ripping on Tanguay some more to kill some time before an interview with Chris Gasper from the Globe.

Alright you sold me, not a pizza hut franchise but a deal for Fielder. Plus he's a vegitarian. How many plants could he eat? Of course so are elephants, brontosarus, and giraffes. i'm guessing he's not trending towards the latter. - Derek's friend talking about Prince Fielder 7/24/09

I'm guessing she got bunt confused with punt. That segment was pretty funny.

That's what I thought too. She was a solid choice to make pink hats look bad. Either T or R went as far as to say you can almost guess how well a pink hat will do on the quiz by the player they choose.
Ellsbury: no chance
Pedroia and Ortiz: almost as bad, "They sell those jerseys in airports"
Papelbon: party person
All position players: at least some shot
A starting pitcher: probably knows at least a little baseball

I really like the interviews they do with guys like Forsberg and Portnoy with Barstool Sports right now. Whereas D&C can't be bothered to talk to these guys unless they are named Brady or some other big name.

His Tiger Woods stuff today was awesome, considering the way he handled the fan backlash.

I only heard the beginning of the fan backlash when they were calling him a racist, but the initial meltdown when Wallach didn't mention the rest of the field was what finally won me over. He really needs to be a part of the show in the future because he is really the the glue that holds this show together.

BTW, I left the car before the bit came on. Were there really 10 Pats questions or was it a gag?

1. Who was the #3 QB on the depth chart in front of Brady in 2000.
2. How many Super Bowls did the Pats win in the 20th century.
3. Who QB'ed the team to 2 wins in 1992.
4. Who was the 1st rd pick in 1987 that the Pats tried to convert to DB, refused, was traded, and eventually won MVP.
5. Who was the #1 overall pick in 1984.
6. Who was the offensive coordinator in 2003.
7. Who was their 1st round pick in 2001.
8. Where did Troy Brown go to college.
I can't remember the other 2. The caller only got one (being exposed in the process, it was embarrassing) and Wallach got 6 I think. The intro theme song set to a Rush song was the best part though.
And yeah, it was called Wallop Wallach. I'm enjoying his involvement quite a bit, he provides a good contrast to the rest of the show.
