This is your chance to own a piece of history. On October 4, 2004, at 10:04 PM, one day before the postseason that made history began, SoSH member Gehrig 38, aka Curt Schilling, started the game thread for that historic run with the words, "Why not us?"

I have a limited number of blue t-shirts with "Why Not Us?" on the front, and "If 25 Men Believe They Can, They Will" on the back. Unfortunately, there are only small and medium shirts remaining, but I would like to have SoSH members get them all.

If you're wondering about the sizing, here's a picture of my son, 6" +, maybe 165, wearing a medium and holding a 9'6" surfboard for perspective.

And here's a picture of the back of the shirt.

Offer whatever you want for the shirt and it's yours, first come, first served. Posts should go in this thread so there are no issues with timing. Anyone offering $25 or more will also receive a matching Curt's Pitch for ALS baseball cap pictured below.

After your payment is received I will contact you for delivery/pick-up. Please be sure to fill out the form at the Pay Auction tab along with clicking the Donate button for payment. Refresh your browser if the form doesn't come up immediately. Sometimes it takes a few seconds.

Thank you all for your support.

I'm in. Medium if you've got one available, small if I've already been beaten to it.

Of course: $38 (with promise to pay as soon as I get to a secure web connection, by 6pm tonite)

8 mediums and 24 smalls remaining.

I'll get a picture of a small up as soon as possible, but it may be tomorrow because the kid is working until later tonight and then who knows where he'll be.

In true SoSH fashion you should take a picture of yourself by extending your arm, pointing the camera at you, and pressing click or by photographing yourself in a mirror.

$227 for a medium.

216 wins + 11 post-season wins.

edit: will pick up at Fenway Bash - think my form wasn't clear on that.

Smalls? Mediums?? Am I the only big fat tub of goo still around this site? Fris, look toward the bottom of the box. If you find a 2XL, I'm all over it.

Great to see these going quickly, just wish there was one my size.

And remember guys, this is a pay what you want offer. Please do not feel you have to match or exceed what others have paid. If you're down on your luck but want a shirt, grab one before they're gone. Don't be shy.

These things are awesome.

Nope. I was given the shirts last year by the nice people at Mass ALS. I think they are incredibly special and something any Red Sox fan would want to own as a reminder of that 2004 season.

Didn't Schilling have these shirts made up for the players? IIRC, the players wore these during the playoffs.

I still have the one I ordered from his site, back in 2004. You could order them directly at the time...wore it during the ALCS.

(I thought they ran a bit small...but it was sturdy material.)
