You can play ball with Skrub, Rip, DoTB, and the SoSH crew, drink good tequila with me at la casa de Fris, ogle the beautiful SoSH women in their skimpy swimsuits as they lounge in the jacuzzi (but please stay away from my teenage son's female friends), and kick URI square in the balls!

Winner must be 21+.

Do any events like this ever take place on the West Coast? I'd be down with going to something like that, but the logistics of making the cross-country trek make many of the SoSH events extremely unlikely for those in my boat.

Unfortunately, we don't have any big events like this on the west coast. We actually get a couple of brave souls to make the trip cross country each year for our annual bash.

However, we do have "mini" chapters in some certain areas (DC, Dallas, SF, CT as examples). There's a members only forum where we organize get togethers and the like.

So Skrub, if one were to win a probationary membership in this auction, would that probationary member then have access to some of these members only forums? Perhaps they would then have access to some of the happenings with our West Coast members and might even be able to meet with such luminaries as 5btg or the google master himself.

I also have some shit if folks want to get a mini-chapter together somewhere. We have a ton of members on the west coast... even if a lurker wanted to put this together that would be cool (granted if they did they probably wouldn't be a lurker)

This would definitely be something I would be interested in, even if it's just to get together to catch a game now and again.

Are there any guidelines for putting this together and a way to find out which members are in the area?

If so, please shoot them to me via PM or email (justin.bousquet@gmail.com)

Do not worry my bid will be coming tomorrow after I make the $5 donation as I currently have $.05 in my account and get paid tomorrow.

There is nothing I like more than drinking and playing softball with a bunch of people I do not know.

Also is gloucester too far north for the short bus to make a pick up?

The pick-up is made in Downtown Boston. Folks usually gather for a little while before the bus leaves to enjoy a beverage or two. Drop-off is at the home or hotel, between Lynnfield and Boston.

I think this would put Gloucester a little out of reach given the amount of time we have the bus for.

There will be at least one group coming from Gloucester, but they will be coming later - after the game. PM me if you're interested in possibly hooking up with them. They will have designated drivers. Either that or tents.

If you win the bid, and you get a ride to Boston to take the short bus to the game, I will personally cover your cab ride or drive you back myself to Gloucester after Fris' house.

My wife doesn't drive my car.

Point taken though, you'll probably be in a cab.

Basically, this goes for any lurker that wins this thing who lives a remotely reasonable distance from Lynnfield (say 50 miles). If I need to get a limo to pick you up, I'll do that, just bid on this and we'll see to it that you get home safe, I guarantee it'll be worth it.

Right now we have one bid for $144 by bostonbeerbelly.

Now, fellow lurkers, I don't know if you know this, but bostonbeerbelly is actually made entirely of eggs and sulfur. This makes the bus stinky.

Crappy name says it all because I can't get up there but I can't believe others aren't jumping all over this. A ride to and from, pizza, drinks and a chance to get tea-bagged?

This could be your chance to play in the game and get some member cred (move from lurker to member or possibly even dope considering who the dopes actually are)

Back in town 3 weeks too late, alas I am stuck with 8/13 afternoon game with drinking starting around 10AM. Wisecracks appreciated but any members want to say where they will be/what they look like to meet up prior to the Detroit game on said date?
