A popular item brought back from last year's auction: The Predict The Total Raised contest. Predictions are (now just) $5 each and can be Entered Here on the website. We'll come up with some nice prizes for the winners. Since the auction is shorter this year, predictions received by midnight Sunday the 12th will win a bigger prize than predictions received by Friday the 17th (auction ends the 19th). Trust us, the prizes will be good. Predictions must be registered no later than midnight Friday July 17th to be eligible for prizes. You may optionally post your prediction here in the thread but may want to consider whether that's a strategic advantage for your fellow guessers or not. The winner will be the closest to the gross total raised (before fees and expenses). The closest guess in either direction wins. No pennies. Only whole dollar amounts.

There will be a week one winner:

Macallan 12 yr., retail value $75; Fris is also going to throw in a bottle of his fine anejo tequila.

The week two winner:

Sanctuary Pinot Noir, retail value $35

But now, whomever is closest, whether week one or week two can also win a new, fabulous prize! Drumroll please!

Really? I can't even remember the exact amount of my guess. But I've got big plans for that Macallan and tequila if I win (hint: I'm going to drink them). As for the chicken... well my place in downtown Atlanta has a balcony. Should be a fine coop.

gtg807y, among four predictions had one for $39,000 for a difference of $1,833.

A match for Curt's personal message, a donation, a few cook books or raffle entries could have turned it either way.

Stiffysboss was $47,465 which would have been in the running had a few 'big things' happened.

This is all so exciting. I'd like to thank everyone who supported my guess.

After consulting my local zoning laws, however, I have found that Chickens are not allowed in my county (until i get a variance) unless they are in bbq so I have been working to find my chicken a good home with some other chickens in New Hampshire, but for the time being, she is staying put with the vodka tinged chicken handler. I am hoping to get some pictures of the chicken and maybe send it some gifts at the holidays.
