Keep in mind folks, this is a gross total and does not account for PayPal fees, cookbook costs, t-shirt costs, donor minimum guarantees, any shipping costs, etc. The net amount going to ALS will be somewhat less.

That way lots of people who would otherwise miss out could get the 'prize' with no downside to the amount of money raised. (of course, if this idea creates a shit-ton of work for AMH, then it isnt a good idea after all)
Just food for thought as I go thru the auctions...

Todd - this is actually a really good idea...I should have thought about it earlier. Given that the auction for that particular photo has started, I think we'll need to run with it as is for this year. But, I'll definitely give it some thought for next year.
OJ - I'm tardy, but I will be getting a bird photo up soon...

Thanks Anne,
I love that photo. Hopefully, you can ID some other cool ones for this approach later. If you come up with some options, i will pay 100-150 for one, to the charity, this year.
Cheers,
T

Total based on actual receipts as of today at noon plus pending bids as of last night at 7PM (so it's actually well over $27k by now): $26,916! Keep it going everyone. And thanks for the support!

I wouldn't have had this problem! My plan to swoop at the last second failed me.
Enjoy! (I guess...)

How close is it? Are we looking at some real drama here coming down the stretch? Though in the end I'd probably just let OJ keep the chicken anyway.

The seemingly odd amount (so far) is explained by what amounts were cleared and available three days ago, which is the lead time for the transfers from PayPal. I wanted to be sure you guys had a substantial portion of the net proceeds to give to Ms. Tara from Mass ALS this weekend at the Bash. I moved all I could over to the bank account so I could have this for today. I'm on the way to the post office now to overnight it to Ms. Candy. Thank you everyone!! It is real. We do make a difference!

That won't show up until August Bash time; we're still selling cookbooks through 8/14 - and every little bit helps! The grand total won't be available until everything is paid in and paid out and the books closed.
There will, however, still be a winner announced in the "predict the total" game. I believe the cut-off for that is/was sometime this week? LT's the 'PTT' guy!
