Pena optioned down to AAA, so the Cody Ransom face gets the start at 3B with A-Rod DHing tonight. Posada moves up to 5th against the lefty. Washburn has a 2.56 career ERA against NY, his best against any team he's faced more than twice.

Washburn certainly loves his new OF defense. His 3.77 FIP is close to what he put up when he had the best year of his career (3.71) which was with the Angels in 02.

So I was just in the car and Suzyn was doing scores. She says something along the lines of "Remember Josh Johnson who shut down the Yankees? He pitched 3 and a third innings today allowing 5 walks and 4 hits" I guess implying that he sucks or something and shutting down the Yankees was a fluke.
