I just wanted to provide a quick update on the cookbooks.

I have received the second order from the publisher this past Saturday, August 8. All of the orders that were placed before Sunday, August 9, have been shipped with the exception of those who requested delivery at the Fenway Bash. For those that were shipped, you can expect delivery within the week.

All the cookbook orders that I have received have been shipped, with the exception of those who requested delivery at the Fenway Bash. The books are being sent via USPS Media Mail. Expect 2-9 days delivery time.

Yes, thanks so much for shipping everything out. I received mine the other day and the entire thing is excellent -- from the cover to the illustrations to the layout to the...can't say anything about the recipes (yet) but I'll assume they're excellent as well!

I'd hoped to get the rest of the cookbook volunteers to chip in on one of those brown UPS uniforms for BYB84, complete with the short shorts. But the color would have clashed with Steve's awesome beard.

Just got mine in the mail today. Amazing. I click on a couple of links here, and poof! a book appears in my mailbox. I wish this worked just as easily for hot Swedish chicks.

Thanks to everyone who contributed. This was a wonderful idea with a fantastic result, and a fun read all on its own. I plan on Unleashing the Power of Crock this winter; the tough part will be figuring out which recipe to try first.

My workplace held a contest today for best desserts. There were prizes for best pie, best cookie, best brownie and best other. I don't bake. Ever. But I was asked to enter for one of these desserts. Of course I checked the cookbook. I made Nuf Ced's Chocolate Peanut Butter Frozen Pie.

Yep, it won 1st place. Ok, so the prize was just a day when I can wear blue jeans to work, the classic case of a company awarding something without having to pay anything, but I won nonetheless.

I got mine the other day. I can't even express how impressed I was.

Especially when my wife, after about ten pages, said she'd be caught dead (or would be dead) if she made 90% of the recipes in there.

She did ask me "who is Drocca?". She loved his comment about the bacon. I, unfortunately, had to inform her that he was an Ass Captain.
