When do these puppies ship? I've got a fridge full of bacon and I need Skrub's advice on how to prepare it.

Maybe if anyone ever lets me know they live around San Diego, I can do a 3-4 course dinner from the recipes.

Likewise. Looking forward to this - the previews look great!

Abs - I'm assuming the final cover artwork I sent worked for the printer since I didn't hear back from you. Let me know if you need anything else.

HighHeat artwork on the cover! Folks, this has moved from the kitchen cookbook rack to the living room coffee table.

Having the SoSH cookbook and the "Win It For" Collection displayed will create a new friendship set for all the basement dwellers.

Is the "c" word used in the book?

If it is, that has to be a cookbook first.

The cookbook is fantastic! I've been reading it all morning, and between the awesome recipes and the hysterical asides, I couldn't resist...just ordered 5 more. If you folks haven't ordered one yet, don't miss out on this. It's already a classic!!

Has it been shipped already? Or does stiffy have an advance copy? I'm a little confused.

Amazingly enough, Fletcherpost was quoted without use of the "c" word, although other epithets were deployed.

I received several orders yesterday which did not have the accompanying form filled out. The ordering and payment site has a two step process for an important reason. Oftentimes the shipping address a person has listed with PayPal is neither a current address nor the address to which they want the cook book sent. The separate form section allows us to be certain of your intentions and preferences. I know the form can sometimes be balky but usually refreshing the browser prior to filling it out corrects this. Please be sure to both fill out the form and separately make your PayPal donation so we aren't faced with hunting people down to be certain of their intentions or dealing with shipping items to wrong addresses. The two step process is intentional to ensure the smoothest, most trouble-free (read: not overly time consuming) process possible. The four folks who ordered yesterday will have their cook book sent to the address listed at PayPal unless I receive a form stating otherwise by tomorrow. 'k?
TIA - LT, CFO

P.S. Dionysus - You can make your payment via direct debit from your checking account. You do not have to wait for your card. See the instructions when you reach the PayPal site.

I like to think that I know my way around the kitchen, but there's one stupid simple tip that abs gives for grinding dried peppers that alone is worth the price of the book. Tons of good, original stuff there.

Well, if I posted it here, who'd buy the book? Page 78, where you comment about Anaheim and New Mexico chiles as a substitute for molido in the Red Chile recipe. Whenever I'd tried to grind those types peppers they stayed in fairly large pieces no matter how long I had them in the processor.

Yeah, that works pretty well. You can do it on top too, but you really need to watch them closely then.
And if any of y'all want to know what we're talking about here, buy a cookbook.

And thanks CS. Glad I could help.

Got mine yesterday. This thing is the balls. Seriously, the spectrum of recipes in here is fantastic. At first I thought "no index?", but the chapters are divided in such a way that it's easy to find what you're looking for.

Kudos to whoever decided on the spiral binding as well. I have never understood why all cookbooks don't do that.

As someone who has worked in retail wine stores for almost a decade, I also give the wine chapter a thumbs up. I'm even going to use one of the lines from that chapter as a sig.

All the contributing chapter writers -- Yammer, Maalox, Skrub, Hildy, Yep and Abs -- really stepped to the plate on their respective topics. I'd expected to require multiple back & forths with them over numerous revisions, but damn if they didn't each hit it out of the fucking park on their first try.

And none of them said "sorry, man, wish I could help, but I'm just too damned busy" -- even though they all would have been well within their rights to do so. Not even Skrub, who was gallivanting around the West Coast during our deadline week. It's great to see their efforts are appreciated.

I don't know about anyone else, but I know that Mark made what I wrote up much, much better than what I sent to him.

I received mine yesterday and I must say that it looks excellent. Everyone who had a hand in the actual production of this thing deserves a hand.
Explaining all this to people in my family when they get them for presents will be fun too.

I'd like to take a moment and echo Mark's comments. The crew who put this together did a remarkable job, the results far exceeded my expectations. It really is a wonderful collection of essays, quotes and recipes.

On a side note, we ordered 200 cookbooks and received the first 100. All of these books are gone, a few were sold at the Softball bash and the rest have been shipped.

We are expecting delivery of the second 100 books from the publisher any day now. As soon as I receive these books they will be shipped.

Thanks again to everyone.
