I can't watch any team right now. I'm not going to get into the Sox until next weekend (T-Dot Bash). Also, Guinness is the best beer in the world. PSK approves.

I heard he was drinking Zima's.

If I'm drinking beer it's Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat, but I'm much more of a Captain and Coke guy. I find it numbs the pain quicker and more completely.

I had one of these at a beer fest a couple months ago and it's a good choice. I recommend it to anyone I see drinking Hoegaarden.

Give me Magic Hat #9, or give me death.
I have a feeling tonight could be a Bombay Sapphire night though, in honor of PSK.

His less than refinded gin palette does not approve of Bombay Sapphire.

Turns out I have a mixed batch of Magic Hat barley and hop beverages. Win.
I've been watching hockey. Lots of it. I have been drinking a lot too, exam study days excluded.

CC already speculated that Phil HAD to be traded to make room under the cap, it was just a matter of time till he speculated where.
Fuck that guy.
Phil ain't going NOWHERE.
Where's he going?
NOWHERE.

Shit, if you read between the lines of Chiarelli's interview today he pretty much told everyone that he expects Phil to be here. I just wanted to set up a good laugh next week when he slips that into a column.

Jesus, you drink gin straight? What're you, a pirate?

A retarded pirate. He'd be a real pirate if he drank Bombay Dry or Beefeater straight.

Depends on my mood. If I'm feeling relaxed, I'll throw some tonic in there.

From the HFBoards:
Also: what was the quality of his goal-scoring....in what manner were they scored...can he be relied upon when the game turns into demolition derby? I'd suggest no.
Also: is he someone who makes his two linemates better, enhances their play? I'd suggest no.
It's kind of the kid in class who aces all the tests, but you wonder, underneath it all, does he (or she) truly comprehend the subject matter?
So, clearly, I have my doubts about this soon-to-be $4M a year player. And I firmly believe that's the sentiment among the Causeway cognescenti.
They do not have a true No. 1. Chara is unique, even great, but in a narrow definition (shut down, power, etc). But as you may have noticed, there ain't a Bourque in the bunch.
All in all, I think they are desperate for a bonafide puck-lugger, with speed, who can help them develop 3-on-2 and 4-on-2 chances.
I understand fans being smitten with Kessel's speed and goal total...but it's necessary to view him through his full line, and what those goals mean.

Now there's a moment of understatement and clarity. I'll even dare to add he's not Malkin either.

It's ridiculous. Honestly would any team trade the Bruins a Ray Bourque type for Kessel? Probably not. There is one guy in a class by himself as a defenseman and that is Lidstrom. No other team has that type of player. God CC is brutal.

Keep drinking your Allagash Spring Ale year round, not to mention on days that were specifically designed to drink Guinness. If I could think less of you, I would.
#9 owns all. In fact, a 12 pack of that is in order tonight.
Edit: Is "what am I drinking tonight" the new "what exams do I have today"?

Gin and tonic I can do. Though it's the only thing my late grandmother, the chain-smoking episcopal deaconness, would drink so it always makes me smell Virginia Slims and Jesus.
A good whiskey on the other hand is like manna from the heavens.

Just to be clear, I also love good whiskey, and don't generally put anything else in there.
Whiskey is more for the winter, gin for the summer.

Do what I'm doing.
4 slices lean turkey
2 slices 12 grain bread
Dijon and spicy brown mustards
Sauerkraut
1 whole dill pickle, sliced
1 slice of red onion
A few spinach leaves
2 slices of Swiss cheese
Put a slice of swiss on each slice of bread, then combined the rest of the ingredients in there as you desire. Cook on the stove like a grilled cheese, serve with a Carlsberg. Boom, awesome panini that isn't half bad for you.

It can get pretty compact without a problem. Spinach wilts a bit, cheese melts (and, importantly, keeps the moisture out of the bread), pickle is sliced so it isn't too big.
