From a Phillies blog:
Do people agree with this?
Dodgers: 63-39, 499 RS, 403 RA +96 Run Differential
Phillies: 58-42, 539 RS, 465 RA +74 Run Differential
The Phillies have been hot, thanks to some very good pitching recently, but I think it will be interesting how the starting pitching continues perform since Blanton and Moyer were shaky at the beginning of the year.
Hamels had a pretty bad start against a pretty bad offense today, so that doesn't help the outlook either. Blanton changed something recently that turned his season around. I'll have to see if I can find the link to where I read about it. Lee and Happ make it a good top 4 and Moyer is passable at 5.
They may not be the team to beat, but clearly they are in the top 2. And since they have the top NL offense, it really does come down to pitching for them. Although it's not just the starters they should be worried about with 3 relievers on the DL and Lidge having no idea where the ball is going and getting battered on the rare occasions it does go over the plate.
