Clubber: "Pain."
From 3-1 to 3-3. I've seen this show before, and I know how it ends.

Any idea when she'd need to get to a bar in the North Station area to get a seat? Like Beer Works or DJ's or The Fours? I'm assuming sending her to the Fenway area would be a bit too crazy/busy for her taste. Any ideas/advice?

Win tonight.

Why the fuck would they want the Phillis to play the Sox? I mean, you could make the argument that, given the Sox injuries, the Rays are the better team, but that's insane. I sure as fuck wouldn't want my team playing the Red Sox after another epic comeback win for the pennant. We've seen that story before.

The reason for Cora according to Boston.com is that sources said he "hits hard-throwing right-handers better than Jed Lowrie and therefore [they are] putting Cora in at shortstop."

I know. I just posted above what Tito's reasons are -- let's hope he's on a short leash.

There's one reason to prefer playing the Sox and that is "Who the fuck are the Rays?"

Win tonight.

Its quite odd but I actually know a lot of Phillies fans who like the Red Sox, and cheer for them as their sort of AL team, no idea why

You better hope that little bugger doesn't decide to show up tonightMy wife is pregnant with our first child...he's due Tuesday.
So, if the Sox win tonight, the first game I watch with my son will be the Red Sox playing in the World Series. If not...he will not have live baseball in his life until next spring. I can't take that chance...these first few months will be critical in the development of his Sox fandom.
Needless to say, I would appreciate a Sox win tonight.
SOX EXTINGUISH THE RAYS!!!!

Well then he'd better be out of the game when Garza is pulled. What a liability in game 7. I hate it.

Cora better hit two dingers.
#115
Posted 19 October 2008 - 03:57 PM
That tells me that he's probably due. And let's not forget that one of those two hits was the double that began the rally in game 5.Guys, Lowrie has been complete shit in the playoffs:
.214/.343/.250
He's 2/17 (4 BB) in this series.
Either way, the Rays massively upgraded the one gaping hole in their line-up (Baldelli for Gross) and the Sox inserted Tito's binky at SS.
Great.

"We don't go up there and think, Now we've got to beat Beckett — no one cares about Beckett," the Rays' Cliff Floyd said. "Face him the same way you face everybody else. If anything, Beckett should be worried about us. We just beat him."

It looked to me that Lowrie showed a little more range than Cora. Especially that DP off of Longoria the other night - I think that ball is by Cora. I hope we don't see ground balls finding their way through the middle or the ss hole.Alex Cora against Power Pitchers:

Yea, I'm OK with Lowrie's 0-4 considering his defense with Lester, who should be getting groundballs, in the game. The Cora move is certainly defensible, but I would have kept Lowrie in there for his range.
Let's hope we don't think back on this decision and RUE IT.

I'm a bit worried by how calm I feel. I KNOW there should be a freshly formed ulcer making its presence felt, but.......nope.I am more nervous than I was heading into Game 6, despite my confidence in the team and in Jon Lester.
