Micah Hoffpauir, yes Micah Hoffpauir, greeted Ricardo Rincon by hitting a 3 run homer, his second homer and fourth hit of the night.

6-3 Cubs.

Micah Hoffpauir, Mets fans.

In regard to the Mets I hopw they miss the playoffs. I know if they were in it would be an extra thorn in the side of Yankee fans. But generally speaking, when heaping misery and wanton degredation on New York teams it's better to err on the side of eternal damnation.

Slowey having a rough inning. Groundout RBI, walk, RBI single. White Sox lead 3-1.

Did anyone see this coming? Even a few weeks into the season I was still just hoping he'd be league average this year. Ever since that showdown with Halladay he's been a new pitcher.

MVYoooouk!!!

I hate missing Lester starts, and now it seems I missed a kinda sorta no-hitter. Damn job, getting in the way of real life.

A lot of years ago, back in nineteen hundred and seventy eight, we experienced some evil

Ah, I remember it well, lo these many years later. It still sucks.

Why do all of our switch hitters look so much better from the right side?

It's because they always look bad from the wrong side.

Biggest game of the year for the Mets and you have Ramon Martinez making his first start of the year at 2B and Robinson Cancel making his 9th career start. They deserve anything bad coming to them. And Minaya gets a 4 year contract for putting that pile of suck together.

I like it when Okarjeemer pitches well. He makes the bullpen seem...less...bad.

141 innings of 2.44 ERA baseball the past two years including the playoffs. Not a lot of relievers who can boast of numbers like that.

His first 76 innings, he had 36 walks

I must add - nice win by Halladay for his 20th (9 complete games) - now that he doesn't count, I can admire the performance, and of course against NY, doesn't hurt.

Wow, Cancel tied the game. Liner to RF they sent Church and he was going to be dead but the throw was up the line. He avoids the catcher and dives at the plate right before he got tagged.
