Don't you mean "The House that George Built?"
Babe Ruth never played in this version of der toilet.
Oh cool it, he stood on the same ground and played baseball there.

UPDATE, 3:57 p.m.: The Red Sox have defeated the Blue Jays 3-0 to clinch at least a tie for the wild-card berth. One more Boston win or one Yankees loss clinches the berth for the Red Sox.

Here’s a photo of fans getting a lot closer to the right-field wall than Bobby Abreu ever does.
Back in a little bit with audio from Derek Jeter and Joe Girardi.

John Sterling is sweating like the offspring of Jason Giambi and Kevin Youkilis.
I'm more interested in hearing how many times Sterling says, if the Yanks get a lead early, during tonight's broadcast words to the following effect:
"You know, Suzyn, the Yankees still have a chance at the playoffs (and Pettitte misses, ball 1). If they win the rest of their games, and the Red Sox lose the rest of their games, you've got a one game playoff. And ANYTHING can happen during that. Most importantly, if the Yankees win tonight and win their next three while Boston gets SWEPT by Cleveland, then it's all in the Yankees hands! (there's a called strike on the outside corner, evens up the count at one and one). And wouldn't it be amazing, well of course it would be amazing, if the playoff game would be held at Yankee Stadium*. And Suzyn, I KNOW its a long shot, but that's BASEBALL. Stranger things have happened."
* - I don't know if they bothered flipping for this yet. Hopefully, the issue would be moot in a matter of hours.

Guess the Orioles will have to do. Millar homerun off Rivera tonight? That would be pretty sweet.

Looks like a lot of Red Sox fans have been voting "Bloody Sox" up. NYYFans is very offended that that was even included.
They are really treating this stadium's closing like the opening of the Olympics or something.

Six minutes in, and this is a pretty lame ceremony. Dudes dressed up in costumes as dead ballplayers? Gimme a break...
Resurrecting the dead Yankees - I'm just not sure what there is to say about this

They've had years to come up with something special for tonight, and this... THIS... is the best they can do??
I'd expect this to be something George Costanza would have thought up, complete with laugh track.
I hope the guy coming out as Mantle is carrying a fifth of bourbon.

I voted Jeffrey Maier #2.
What's best about this poll is that Yankee fans think that beating the Red Sox in a season that the Yankees lost the World Series is better than all these things:
* 8 The First Brick (989) 124,887
* 9 2001 Heroics (482) 120,475
* 10 No. 3 Retired (82) 113,114
* 11 Mantle Hits No. 500 (47) 109,424
* 12 Grieving Munson (84) 102,475
* 13 Cone's Perfection (23) 91,732
* 14 Maier Helps Jeter (68) 89,477
* 15 Wells' Perfection (11) 89,426
* 16 Chambliss' ALCS (63) 88,255
* 17 Pine Tar (43) 82,001
* 18 Righetti's No-No (5) 67,047
* 19 Boggs Rides (29) 66,898
* 20 Koufax K Record (29) 61,940
* 21 Joltin Joe Robbed (4) 56,893

We really went to work on that huh?
I went the classy way and voted Lou Gehrig's speech #2.
I can't believe they showed Bucky Dent! That's like my favorite Yankee Stadium moment!!!!! Wait...that didn't happen at Yankee Stadium.
I don't know what was worse. This or the All-Star game.

This is MUCH worse than the All Star game. That was kind of cool. This is a debacle. How could they show Dent's homer? Without a doubt, douchey.I can't believe they showed Bucky Dent! That's like my favorite Yankee Stadium moment!!!!! Wait...that didn't happen at Yankee Stadium.
I don't know what was worse. This or the All-Star game.

And they didn't have better footage of Chicken Man than of him riding that damn horse?
And the current players can't be bothered with running out there? Really?
