Today's categorical judgments of good pitches and bad pitches are being made by Gary Darling:

Yeah the Sox would never shave their heads or start a fight.

I'll take hitting them right at where they are standing. Now hit some of this slop and score some runs.

Get on and move the line.

Velocity seems to be 92-93, about 3 mph down from pre-"tingling". Should we be worried?

I think it's Mrs. Bay's propensity to churn out children.

Just what we need -- more tiny little Canucks.

Beckett should nutpunch the top of the order as he comes on to the field.

It's kinda hard to field your position when you're curled up in a ball on the ground though. Might do more harm than good.

That was subtle of Remy when discussing the rise in fielding %

"Struggled early in the year but Pedroia has only six and Lowrie only 2 errors."

Translation: Lugo sucked

I took a quick look at Beckett's other two games since returning, against Tampa at Fenway on 9/10, when he topped out just under 96 mph, and at Texas on 9/5, when he was mostly 91-94. It could be park-to-park variation, but he does look a bit slower overall.

The results look OK though, and the curve is really falling off the table.

Pedroia is just outstanding on the dive to his backhand. It's the F*ck Yeah play all over again.

And besides, weren't Lowrie's 2 errors both when he played 3B?

In other words, I blame Lugo too.

TB announcer bitching because Navarro gave Youkilis some time to recover on the ball he fouled off his foot. These guys don’t really like the Red Sox too much.

Sonnanstine is always around the plate so this approach makes sense, but still have to execute it.

Someone needs to drop a bunt to throw this guy off his rhythm. We are really sucking right now. We need to change our approach at the plate.

Yankees down 4-1 to the White Sox. Pettitte just walked Juan Uribe with the bases loaded to force in a run. He looks cooked.
