Pussy.

Angels: With Jered Weaver needing at least another day to heal cuts on the right middle and ring fingers from a dugout incident in Detroit, Moseley gets another crack at a spot start. The right-hander hopes it lasts longer than his 1 1/3 innings in Chicago on Friday night, when he yielded four earned runs on six hits. In three career appearances against the Yankees, one as a starter, Moseley has no record and a 4.50 ERA. Weaver is expected to make a start sometime during the four-game series with the Mariners starting Thursday.

3:35 game.

Yawn. Just another step to the MFYs not having a protected pick and giving the Sox HF advantage throughout the playoffs.

That is, unless Pettitte pitches like his usual shitty self. :rolling:

The AAA stiff the MFY threw last night dominated the Angels.

That's because the Angels don't know how to turn the switch back on.

Angels are going to get swept by whoever they face in the ALDS. You heard it here first.

LA Angels of Anaheim
Fielders Pos. Date Details Status Injury
Erick Aybar SS 08/28/2008 is out indefinitely Out strained left hamstring

Torii Hunter CF 09/10/2008 was not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against New York Doubtful tightness in left quadriceps
Maicer Izturis SS 08/14/2008 is on the 15-day disabled list and will miss the remainder of the season Out left thumb surgery
Howie Kendrick 2B 08/28/2008 is on the 15-day disabled list Out strained left hamstring
Mark Teixeira 1B 09/10/2008 was not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against New York Questionable illness
Pitcher Pos. Date Details Status Injury
Kelvim Escobar SP 03/21/2008 is on the 60-day disabled list and will miss the entire season Out right shoulder surgery
Shane Loux RP 08/28/2008 is on the 15-day disabled list Out oral surgery
Jered Weaver SP 09/10/2008 is questionable for his next scheduled start Questionable lacerated right middle/ring finger

Question: Aybar is out indefinitely and Izturis will miss the remainder of the season. Does anyone know if they are expected to be ready for the post-season?

Edit: the FSN West announcers were talking as if the answer were YES.
By the way, Moseley doesn't seem like a POS to me. He's recovering from an injury. What's Pap's excuse?

Good lord Gary Matthews Jr. is terrible. What an amazingly awful contract.

Which is entirely relevant, of course.

He's had one 400+ at bat season with an OPS+ of above 94, and it earned him $10MM a year. God Bless America.

This off season may go similarly...Hampton and Pavano might somehow be awarded millions of dollars for their efforts the last 4-odd years.

LOL @ Abraham who really hates ARod and Girardi.

UPDATE, 4:40 p.m.: Here’s an easy prediction for you: A-Rod will lead the AL in homers. Carlos Quentin has 36 and is out for the season. Miguel Cabrera and Alex have 33 and Jermaine Dye 32. Alex has 16 pressure-free games left, 10 at home. He’ll crush the ball. Bet he hits 37 or 38.

In this morning's Times, he was quoted as saying he wanted to continue to pitch for the Yankees.
He indicated that he didn't want to go elsewhere for a bigger contract, as money wasn't an issue now. He does not seem a very desirable pitcher to me. Wonder what he'll get for an offer?

More Abraham fun...

UPDATE, 5:03 p.m.: Cano is now 2 for his last 24. I predicted before this season that the Yankees would not make the playoffs, but it would be a step back to take two step forward because they would develop their young players.Instead their young players have gone in reverse under the new manager and coaching staff. Cano, Cabrera, Kennedy, Betemit, etc.

That’s the worse part of this, they have done nothing to improve their status for 2009.

He HATES Girardi.

Well, such maturity and politeness. Me likey! If you guys were in town, I'd reward you with pizza and a slice of pear tart!

I was only wanting us to be fair to folks on other teams. They don't all want to fail or somehow screw us over.

I am not grateful to K-rod for making that so interesting, however. I almost burned the pizza.
