What no game thread? Well then, I'll remedy that. The Yankees take on the Angels. We want the Angels to lose because that helps to secure homefield advantage in the playoffs. We want the Yankees to lose because, well, they are the Yankees.

I'm still undecided as to how I feel but maybe they'll be a nice 16 inning game that includes two bench clearing brawls.

Garland sucks and I'd welcome an ALCS matchup vs the rest of this rotation after Lackey.

I know it's been tough but we did it with Yanks/Rays so we should be a bit more acclimated by now but we definitely want to root for the MFY's. Not only will it help us secure the best record in the AL, but also we want the Yankees to finish at least with the 16th best record in MBL so they don't get a protected draft pick. I think Arod is due for a meaningless break out game with say 5 RBI's so that would be nice.

Just for the record, Jon Garland is a gutless little bitch.

True. I forgot to consider the draft pick issue.

Wow, the Angels are SUCKING.

That was a rather weak throw by Pudge. Im not sure that Posada could have done much worse

Tex swinging at 3-0 really sucked the life out of that inning.

Go get em Yankees. Help us with home field and get yourself in the top 15 so you can lose that draft pick. Its only a pick but you never know if that pick turns into the next Pujols or Johan so go get a W NY

One step closer to the 15th pick in the draft...

We need more starts from Rasner, Pavano, and Ponson/Igawa....

I'm surprised more hitters don't sit slider against Geise. It's his only plus pitch, and that's what happens if they guess right on a mistake.

What a weird game.

For a captain of a team, Jeter sure is reluctant to get involved in scuffles. He just stood there until there were about 30 people between him and the actual fight.

I could read Joe's lips as Jeter must have asked him what happened to Dave Island. Joe G. told him
"No he just went down , I don't know what happened."

Singleton's analogy that this incident might wake a sleeping dog doesn't really work here since the dog died about a month ago.

What's more sad? The fact that the Yankees are paying $200 million on a fourth place team or the fact that their fans are actually rooting for them to lose so they get a protected draft pick?

I think they need to focus on some type of goal that will make them forget about the absolute joke of a team they have to watch night in and night out.

In the final year at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees are having one of the most laughable baseball regular seasons in our lifetimes.

Kay is repeating the same shit we've heard from Yankee fans all year- this team is better than they're playing. That's total bullshit. I've been saying all season that this team just isn't that good. Their lineup is not that scary. It's full of high priced guys who were former all stars but not current ones. Throw in a mediocre pitching staff that included two shitty rookie starters and a below average pen and you've got an average team.

It sounds Like Dave Island is going to be OK. Just dizziness that passed. Was examined by Doctor. That is good news.
It would have been a drag if he had a heart attack because of getting worked up during that chickenshit fight.

A season of having to work with Ponson, Rasner, Pavano, Hughes and Kennedy will eventually take its toll.
