I appreciate what Wake has done during his Sox career and his loyalty to the Sox but it's time to move on - I can stand watching knuckleball pitchers and that fact that the Sox need to career a shit ass catcher for one.

Nice move to first.

I agree, Texas doesn't have enough runs.

Way, way early.

It's tough because Wakefield has these bouts and then suddenly finds himself again. Terry had to be hoping and gave Tim extra rope because it's so early...

Pick-off!

Well, if the Sox can't get batters out, they might as well pick off the baserunners. That third out was a long time in coming.

That got a bit out of hand.

Wow, that really escalated. It jumped up a notch. God I would have loved to have been only 1.5 games back at the end of the night.

Time to summon some Manila I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery.

One here, two or three there, give yourself a shot to win it in the 8th or 9th. Just no one try to start hitting 5-run homers right now, okay?

Forget it guys, if Wake wants to pitch next year the Sox will offer him 4 or 5 M and pencil him in for 180 innings of league average pitching. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE HIM ON THE TEAM.. And his caddy.

The knuckleball is just a random thing.

Clearly the heat was messing with Wake. Everything was very high, in addition to drifting all over the place.

It was very painful to watch that inning drag on and on though.

This reminds me of Game 4 of the ALCS last year that Wake completely blew...seven runs in one inning. Ugh. I think Paul Byrd was the opposing pitcher.

This thread needs a metahphorical Summer's Eve douche or something. I know game threads are the place for hysterical overreaction, but come on.

Perhaps the suck that is Tek will make them decide to have 2 real catchers on the team next year.

Pedroia needs to hit a 6-run homer.

Mere mortals could never do that. But with Pedroia, it wouldn't surprise me.

If anyone is counting on anything but this froim Wake in the playoffs they are dreaming.

I've got to think that Colon or Byrd would be a better choice as 4th starter in the 7-game series, but Tito hates to shake things up.
