9/5 Pettitte vs. Morrow

The Mariners really suck without King Felix on the mound.
There's no excuse for losing even one game to them . . . unless Brandon Morrow, flame throwing reliever who the M's have finally converted back to being a starter is on his game.
Pettitte's been stumbling lately. If only there was something that old Andy could take, some sort of pick me up that he could take, you know, just to help the team, not for any unchristian selfish purpose. If only . .

I'm in favor of anything that causes him to exercise his option for next year.
he doesn't have one, that was last year.

An easy sweep, even for the Yankees.

You're right. I remembered that he didn't technically exercise the option for this season so I thought he still had one.
OK, then I'm in favor of his signing a new contract.

The Yankees are 6-0 vs Seattle this season and have won 8 straight against them dating back to last season.
An easy sweep, even for the Yankees.
those six were all in NY, FWIW. they do miss King Felix, at least.

But the M's acclimated Morrow back to starting in the minors rather than in Seattle.

Prediction: 2 Abombs from Arod in a 12-4 win.
PS. What is the Yankee record in games NOT facing the Padres or Mariners?

And, I'm guessing that Morrow will pitch pretty well.

.562 OPS and they just had him swinging at a 3-0 pitch which resulted in a weak ground ball.

That seems way too strong a condemnation. He's a total junkballer at this point but he's pretty good at getting guys to swing at shit out of the zone and really has down that Jamie Moyer-ish perspective that with a lot of hitters you really never have to throw a strike. At this point I'd be hesitant to even give Pettitte an invitation to spring training.

Next batter, ARod poaches the ball from CM like a hypercompetitive husband taking a volley from his wife in mixed doubles.

Come on Cashman, give him a three year deal. He's a True Yankee after all.

And Pettitte has to have some type of injury that he's been trying to pitch through the last few weeks. He can be bad, but these last few outings have been ugly. Maybe Abraham was right about that elbow.

If only he had some sort of magic elixir to take when he's hurt, you know, just because he's hurt, just to help the team, not to try and cheat. That wouldn't be christian. There has been a Dan Giese sighting.
