Didn't Tony LaRussa propose that games be split into 3 3-inning pitching sessions? Maybe he was on to something...

I would really think a lot less of this team if they pissed this game away. It's practically a free win.

Trembley could be on to something here. Pitch your shitty relievers for 2 or 3 innings each instead of your shitty starters. The confusion to the other team is palpable based on this performance today.

You know, maybe his bat hasn't been great, but he's saved quite a few runs with his glove this year.

Ellsbury definitely robbed Huff of a home run. It was headed for the bullpen.

Enough with the fucking walks. When will we learn that pitchers from the Japanese leagues can't throw strikes?
no matter what their walk rates were in Japan they always suck balls in the US.

And just for the record I was mostly kidding about wanting Byrd to start a playoff game over DiceK. But having said that, I'm terrified of a typical Dicek 5IP 5BB start during the playoffs.

I don't know, I mean Dice-K's been pretty good (brushing away the hysteria and hyperbole surrounding this game, of course), and Nomo had a decent career for someone who started in the MLB at 26.

yeah, pretty much. I sense a big inning coming up though. They're going to get a guy all the way to second base...

This is quickly turning into one of the worst games of the year. Facing a nothing team running out their shitbum relievers and one of the worst lineups they'll face all season, the Sox are getting their tits smoked off.

It's maddening.
