If the "Rays" lose either of the next two games against Pavano or Rasner no one can take them seriously.

Well Pavano at least is supposed to be a capable big league pitcher and the yankees usually have decent success against Kazmir. I don't think they'll win both, but I can see one of two anyway.

Not that I really care, but GameCast is making it look like Moose is getting a ton of low strike calls. I know it's unreliable, but is this the case?

That is the case. They've even been talking about how Moose has been taking advantage of that fact. Hitters are not happy.

yeah, looks that way on the YES broadcast. Upton got K'd looking on one of questionable height in the first.

Getting some low strikes this inning for sure.

Hopefully Mussina's pixie dust expires at the end of the month, at the absolute latest. I'll be pissed if he pulls this nonsense again next season for the MFYs.

If the yanks can hold a decent lead maybe they'll let joba pitch a little tonight. Like to see how rusty he is. Could be dangerous.

Wow. Garza came up small tonight.

The entire Rays team came up small tonight.

They still have a good shot at 2/3 though.

Well, sure they do. But the Yankees have really played very well against Tampa this year.

Jesus the 2008 yankee video has to have Jeter in full gidp mode on the cover. I swear it's the whole season in a nutshell.

Marte's been quite the pickup if he's there to pitch in 6-1 games.

Molina looked winded by a 60 foot chase for a foul popup.

lol boo hoo

UPDATE, 9:31 p.m.: Were I a fan of the Yankees, this game would annoy me. Where was this kind of play all season when they needed it? They get 12 games down and then put the smack down on the Rays.
Great start by the Moose. He’s on his way to No. 17.

Edwin channel some 2004-2007 in you. Take your pick.

I can welcome it after the fact but I just can't root for the mfy's in game. It's like asking a guy whose family was put to death by Stalin to cheer that the russians are beating the nazis. Um . . . yay.
