Watch out. If she's back down to her Butterfield 8 weight of 120, Liz could be dynamite.

Taking some family and friends to the game tonight. One of them is being deployed next week. Totally looking forward to Lester shutting down the O's and Liz getting lit up by Laser Show and Papi.

Good Times!

Wish good luck to the one being deployed. The rest of us can deal with so-so fortune. Wish that guy good luck for all of us.

Jacoby Ellsbury, RF
Dustin Pedroia, 2B
David Ortiz, DH
Kevin Youkilis, 3B
Mark Kotsay, RF
Jed Lowrie, SS
Jason Varitek, C
Alex Cora, SS
Coco Crisp, CF

Tonight would be a good night for a few Ortiz bombs.

I see that AC's range IS severely diminished, if he needs Jed's help to cover SS.

The two SS, two RF, no LF, no 1B lineup is a bit... odd.

I should think so. IIRC, he has played every game in LF since the trade.

Just a night off for Bay?

Assuming it's just that, and Bay is not injured or sick, Tito couldn't wait until Thursday for a day off for Bay? The game on Wednesday is a day game, so Bay presumably would have gotten a full day on Thursday in Texas to relax. And the Sox are also off on the following two Thursdays, so it's not as if the day off schedule is going to be unbearable down the stretch. With Drew and Lowell already out, I don't understand the need to give Bay even more time off.

Yup, I know that one of Tito's strengths is reputed to be that he knows when to do things like this.

This game surpasses the dangerous "reverse lock" threshold. Mark it down boys. This one will be ovah in the second. That said I would like to see Lester do a little 7 inn. 3 hits, 0 bb's action. I will be pulling for a CG shutout though. Win tonight.

Bay could use a day off. In his last five games he's 3 for 20 with 7 Ks. It could be a mental-health day as much as anything.

What's in a name? Weirdly, Radhames Liz is not the first Radhames to pitch for the Orioles. There was also Radhames Dykhoff, who pitched briefly for them in 1998, after being discovered with his cousin, Sidney Ponson, in 1993.

Here's hoping Liz's stint tonight is just as brief, and as much of a dykhoff. Kick ass tonight, Jon - this train is rolling into the post-season, with some more help from whatever offense is out there tonight.

GO SOX - WIN TODAY!

I don't know why Castig mentioned Lowrie to 3B, as he was there in the original line up.

Dustin hitting clean up. Lowrie moves to second in the order.
