You better not have "Russo-ed" this. If you have, I will start a petition to have your handle changed to "Mush", "The Cooler", or "A-Rod".
That being said the pic is pretty good. Good luck topping it.

FWIW that number assumes that the Twins don't go on an absolute tear or the D-Rays don't have an epic collapse. It is based only on Red Sox wins + Yankee losses.
All right, since you want to be more specific...
Standings as of 9/1:
Tampa Bay 84-51 (as if the MFYs are going to catch them)
Boston 79-57 (5.5 GB)
Chicago 77-59 (7.5 GB, but leading the AL Central)
Minnesota 77-60 (8.0 GB)
New York 72-64 (12.5 GB)
Tampa Bay
Yankees elimination number 15
Boston
Yankees elimination number: 20
Chicago
Yankees elimination number:22
Minnesota
Yankees elimination number: 22
Also the Blue Jays are only 2 GB the Yankees, with a record of 70-66. So a combination of enough Toronto wins and New York losses would leave the Yankees in fourth in the AL East.
Toronto
Yankees-in-4th-place number: 29
While I like the photo of the coffin, what I'd like to see is a photo of 1) someone receiving news from a doctor that he only a few days to live, 2) someone writing his last will and testament, 3) someone sharing his last words of wisdom, and then 4) an old geezer sky-diving.

I think using all the Yankee retired numbers as their Elimination Countdown Numbers would be tremendous...
I second this suggestion.

Linking the MFYs to the profound suck that is Matt Cassell is special.

13's their tragic number for the division. Not really what we're counting down here, but I think that's what he was going for.
