Their only hope was to start Pena on the mound. When Jose Molina clocks one off you, it's time to go back to AAA.

And fuck you Hillman. This is why you don't pitch Fulcino in extra innings when Nunez and Soria are available.

Bannister would probably have more luck pitching with his left hand. This righty thing just isn't working for him.

And I can't believe there's a gamethread with this title and this picture hasn't been posted yet. Nobody fucks with de Jesus.

Then they should consider it in the offseason....

Are you kidding?

1. Who would play second base?
2. Would the prospect you get in return be a large enough improvement over whoever they replace to cover the regression you'd see at 2B (even considering the down year)?

1. Who cares? Look up Cano's WS/OPS+ this season - he's been awful. You could put Orlando Hudson there and he'd give you the same production.

2. It would have to be a bonafide Ace pitching prospect/young pitcher or a stud CF.

I'd be pretty wary of trading for Cano if I were a GM. He has amazing talent and potential, but looks like he has absolutely no interesting in improving anything about his game. It would drive me insane to see a guy with a sub .700 OPS dogging it out in the field so frequently.

It would be a little silly to trade him now. It would essentially be selling low on a player who has a ton of trade value when he is at his best.

Get Billy Traber up....

OT - Beckett get testy there hitting Barajas or was it just a pitch that slipped?

The question is, "is his best behind him b/c he doesn't want to/can't/won't adjust to how he's being pitched"?

If I were a little league coach I would make my team watch every single Royals game so they would be able to see exactly what NOT to do.

Yeah, he's been bad this year. But is it a down year, or do you expect this level going forward? Most of the shittiness is from his putrid April.

I'd have a hard time giving up Cano - an inexpensive, young player under contract for up to six more years - plus a prospect for anything short of a can't miss player. You have a 2B who can (and has) put up an OPS+ of 120, and who can (and has) shown good defensive ability.

I guess the question is whether you think this year is an aberration or a sign that he is never again going to play at 06-07 levels (or better).

Why take him out now? It was obvious he couldn't get anyone out last inning - if not before the game even started, so you might as well leave him out there.

The Jays have a chance to be pretty good - that is, if they could stay healthy.

Too bad they lost McGowan for the year - Halladay/Burnett/McGowan/Marcum isn't that bad. If Lind actually lives up to his hype, they might be average offensively. They do need another bat though...

Fans were going crazy after Giambi hit a GS to make it 10-3 in the 2nd. It didn't happen though - Giambi had the sense to stay in the dugout.

15 in a row.

I know it's the Royals, but still - considering he gave up 6 hits to the first 9 batters, that's a heck of a way to buckle down.

Good outing by Moose after a terrible start.

The Royals suck, plain and simple. They have a long way to go before they consistently contend.

In two of the last 3 seasons, Mussina has had a better ERA than Beckett.
