It's tape. Just cooler looking than we're used to seeing.

It's called kinesio tape. She had surgery on her shoulder and the tape helps with muscle contraction and the like.

What happened to chat? I'm watching the Olympics all alone :)

They just annihilated Cuba, and they were supposed to be the strongest competitors against USA/

Its kinesio tape, it promotes healing by separating layers of muscle/tendon and increasing blood flow. It also takes some physical pressure off of the affected area. Seems to be growing in popularity in the US -- my chiro has me taped right now (I have achilles tendonitis) and it really helps. I notice a definite difference in between visits if I lose the tape. Comes in several cool colors, or plain beige if you're not in the Olympics and have to wear professional dress every day.

This Swiss beach volleyball player is a horrible teammate. Everything is his partner's fault.

Had to urge to post the same thing.

What a prick. His partner says nothing, either. Just has this blank stare.

Pretty competitive match between the Chinese and the Americans today.

Just wondering - are the women required to wear the bikinis? Or could they opt to wear something else if they preferred it?

I believe two-piece swimsuits are required by rule.

i know for avp (the pro volleyball tour) the sponsors require them to wear bikinis for televised events but I have seen clips from avp preliminary/qualifying rounds and they wore sweat pants

Rogers and Dalhauser in a hell of a match with the Germans right now. Quarterfinal match, I believe. US has match point after the timeout.

Edit: and the US finally wins. On to the semis!

The names of the Georgian mens' beach volleyball team players are Geor and Gia. Not even kidding. They're currently getting handled by Dalhausser and Rogers.

They're actually nicknames, but that's besides the point. They aren't Georgians anyway, but rather Brazilians. Same deal with the women's "Georgian" beach volleyball team. Yeah, it's weird, but otherwise they wouldn't even be in the Olympics if they represented Brazil since the two men's teams actually representing Brazil are much better (and, in fact, just faced off in the semi-finals).

A little off topic but what would've happened if Russia fully went through with the invasion of Georgia last week? Would the Georgian team get absorbed into the Russian team or would they be grandfathered in? How I'd love to pick the IOCs brain on that one.

This is only true to those that are neither. I'm not past my prime, but I am married. So in my world, Misty May is furiously hot. I mean, her ass alone is ridiculously nice.
