Big Baby is giving us trouble.
There's a bar in Greece that's missing its bouncer right now.

But they still have
Lugo and CrispRicky D and Blount as wet blankets.
Ricky D signed with the Clippers this off season, but Blount is still there.

It's a moot point...this one's a borderline laugher
Not yet. Nobody knows how to run it up like NBA guys. We are just getting started.
BTW, Bosh deserves some credit this tournmanet. He isn't strong enough to guard these big centers but he has played his ass off.

Bosh is ridiculous
And he's the mini-KG...imagine if KG accepted his invite to this team? He is THE perfect FIBA center

Fun game to watch. Greece was manhandled. This team does look tough to beat, far different from the slip shod, ineffectual 2004 team.Huge statement game and a big win. Bosh, Wade and Kobe shined. Defense hugely improved. I'd say this is a gold medal team.

Amazing what happens when put together a team that actually knows how to play team ball.

- I thought Team USA kept their composure pretty well in the 1st. I wanted to jump into the TV and start throwing elbows, starting with the Lithuanian official.
- Speaking of which, I enjoyed the Carmelo Anthony Tornado of Elbows on every rebound in the second half.
- Good to see that Kobe is the only guy out there who brought his awful NBA one-on-one offense today.
- On the other hand, DWade is unbelievable. Smart player. Has even adapted his game to get easy free throws under FIBA rules.
- LBJ is a total freak. Some of his blocks looked like afterthoughts.

That Kobe intentional was a text book intentional. He felt he got hit on the break, he got physical because of it. The ball bounced around, Spanoulis grabbed it...Kobe took a hard whack and then shoved him. Two shots and the ball.

Coach Kaye needs to pull Kobe aside and tell him to knock it off with the 3 pointers. He's hit 3 all tournament on like 25 attempts. That will kill them against a good team, hopefully not Saturday against Spain.

Aug. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Kobe Bryant, basketball's Mr. Cool, got goose bumps during the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
He's heard about goose bumps. He's even seen goose bumps. But, and get this, he'd never actually experienced goose bumps.
Didn't get 'em on draft day. Hearing his name called, shaking hands with National Basketball Association Commissioner David Stern, fulfilling a lifelong dream -- that wasn't enough. Meeting Jerry West didn't do it. Not his first game with the Los Angeles Lakers, either. Not his first championship. Not his first Most Valuable Player Award. Nothing.
``First time,'' he said.

China usually is the ideal opponent. No guard pressure and no over the top defense.
Unfortunately Germany had a horrible game and they didn't deserve the win.
At least they played hard. Down 13 with under 7 minutes left they finally hit some shots and cut it to 54-52. Then Dirk tied it with a clean jumper....but wait ..travel...travel?? unbelievable call, on the other end Yao travels, of course no call, 56-52, Dirk for three, then Germany with the chance for the lead with just over a minute left, Dirk drives to the basket....offensive foul....
Down 4 with 18 seconds left, Dirk was fouled for a whole 2 seconds until he lost the ball......unfuckingbelievable. The refs deep in the Chinese asses especially Eddie Rush.
I expected this joke in the fourth. If Germany only played a decent game it wouldn't have mattered.

On defense, they have continued to be very aggressive. Spain's FG% is mitigated by all of the forced turnovers.
I really wanted to see what Rubio could do in this game, and so far I can see why people are raving about this kid. He already runs the Spanish team like an NBA PG, and his skills are ridiculous (that one handed alley oop was a great example). Also, when Paul and Williams have tried to body up on him, he has done well to not back down physically. He is going to be a great NBA player.

Dwyane Wade is amazing.
Friggin incredible. The guy is all over the place. If I was a betting man, I would bet over on whatever Vegas has the Heat winning this year.
