This auction is for two of my favorite shots that bracket the 2007 World Series Championship. First up is one of Jonathan Papelbon, from September 28, 2007 at Fenway, the night the Sox clinched the AL East:

And the second, from April 8, 2008, after the Sox received their rings, and Tim Wakefield steadied Johnny Pesky as he crossed the field:

Each print is 11 inches by 14 inches and printed on Kodak Royal Digital paper; Paps is glossy (semigloss, almost), Wake/Pesky matte, but if winning bidder has a different preference I'll accommodate. Photographed by Kelly O’Connor (sittingstill). Photographs can be left as is or matted with the photographer's signature at the winning bidder’s discretion.

Disclaimer because I am neurotic: Papelbon photo was shot under less than ideal lighting conditions and Wake and Pesky with a pretty good zoom. I think both prints look great, but neither has the clarity of a bright-sun shot from ten feet away.

Retail Value = I don’t sell my work, but let’s say $100 for the pair.

Minimum Bid = $25

Note: If item is to be shipped to winner, shipping will be added to the winning bid. Winner will be notified with final price via PM and must pay for item via PayPal within 24 hours or item will go to the next highest bidder.

Auction Start time for this item - Now
Auction End time for this item - 2:00 p.m. on August 2nd

More of my Sox photography can be seen at my website, sittingstill.net. Please don't hesitate to drop me a line if you have questions!

People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. ~ Rogers Hornsby

"What goes on here is fairly amazing. Ancient Greek thought developed the concept of paideia which spoke to how people are developed within their social setting. The normative gradient in SoSH that sports fans ought to be able to express themselves properly in terms of rigorous analysis, well expressed writing, and a respect for at least some baseline of human dignity is just a stunning cultural achievement that most people I know wouldn’t believe possible in given so many of the problematic facets of sports fan culture. SoSH is a special place."
