Is anyone watching this thing? I had no idea Jeannie Zalasko was that big....and what is with the women covering this event - her outfit doesn't even match.

Jeannie Zelasko throws it down to Mark Grace on the "Red Sox carpet... I mean red carpet."

Must be great fun for Paps rolling along slowly while the MFY fans break his balls.

Hey Jeanie Zelasko - Ever heard of that thing called an iron? Looks like she slept in her pants.

When did All-Star players stop using their own team's jerseys and switch to all wearing identical jerseys for each league? I thought it looked a lot better with each player's individual team uniform (same goes with the NBA All-Star game).

They don't, that's only for pre-game stuff.

Just saw Dustin go by in the back while they were interviewing Jeter. They were booing the shit out of him.
What gracious hosts those cocksuckers are. Why even have the Sox players in this parade? So they can have abuse heaped on them.

The parade was actually pretty cool. It was a little slow. It took 1.5 hours for the HoF and AL to pass my office. I left the parade before the NL. Reggie Jackson easily got the biggest ovation of any retired player. Ripken came in a close 2nd.

ARod sat facing away from the crowd I was in.. Francona was blistered with boos..more than any other Sox I think.

Tek & Nancy shared a truck. There was no Manny.

EDIT: It was really odd that the parade had everybody in trucks. They seemed much too low. Duck Boats would've been a lot better.. then again, Chevy doesn't sell duck boats I don't think

Said manager Terry Francona: "I learned two things: They want Rivera to close and I suck.''

Jonathan Papelbon woke up this morning to the back page of the NY Daily News screaming "Papelbum," and ripping him for saying he wanted to close instead of Mariano Rivera. Deep in the story, they noted that Paps told the Globe that he wanted Rivera to close, but why let the facts get in the way of a good story?

The day worsened for Paps during this afternoon's Red Carpet parade of All-Stars down Avenue of the Americas, when he was booed unmercifully and said some threats were hurled at him and his wife.

"I should have worn a bullet-proof vest,'' he said. "Brutal.''

He said his wife Ashley was very upset by their treatment, and he said in hindsight he wished she had not been there to accompany him. Jason Varitek said all the Sox players got a going-over by New Yorkers.

"Listen to that, and you'd think my last name was Varitek, and my first name and middle name were, 'Bleepbleep,''" he said.

OMG does Mike Schmidt look OLD. And skinny.

Thank god for Tito's sense of humor. I certainly hoped the parade-goers would treat the Sox a bit more graciously, but that must have been crazy wishful thinking.

[troll] Well it isn't on NESPN, NESPN 2, or NESPNNews. I know this because my Tom Werner cable box has a guide that told me. It turns out it is on FSox. Did you see what they did? They rolled out a red carpet. Are you kidding me? Respect the rings!!!!!! OOOOOH! Look there is Papelbum. I hope someone shoots him. No, I mean it. I actually hope that, because I am an internet tough guy with huge self esteem issues. I wish my father hugged me, just once.[/troll]

Yankee fans are livid because there was a report (Lohud blog) that Papelbon dared wear an obscene (middle finger) t-shirt in the hallowed Yankee locker room this afternoon.

I think it's crazy to have the Sox in this thing. Francona I guess has to but otherwise the hell with this. They're lucky they don't get hit with a brick.
