Edit: And I really liked Holley when he was paired up with Dale. It'll never happen but Felger and Holley would have been great. Actually pretty much Holley paired up with anyone other than Ordway would be good.

I think that stopped about the time the Sox season ended and they didn't have Celtics games pre-empting Planet Mike. They were able to get a full shift out of Adams more often so they didn't need to make him do flashes to earn his money. That and he added nothing to the Big Show when he was on.I thought Mike Adams used to do the flash starting at 3pm?

I flicked back to the KARS4KIDS commercial playing on TSH.
Holley brings out all the things that bothered me for years about Ordway - his incessant need to define terms like "below average" in that exaggerated sloooow delivery, his tendency to prevaricate about every subject and the way he just talks over the other people speaking, creating the "primate house" screeching sounds. And Ordway brings out the things that bothered me for years about Holley - his tendency toward the strawman arguments, the ball-washing during interviews and his complete inability to just take one side of a debate.
Ordway and Holley have less chemistry than Bill Belichick and Ron Borges in a one-on-one interview.
And putting can't shoot free throws Rondo together with can't shoot free throws Dwight Howard sounds like a really dumb plan, but I admittedly know less about the NBA than Tony Mazz.

Despite having little info on the Saints' violations and possible previous warnings they got from NFL HQ, Holley AND Ordway are 100% convinced the penalties are out of line.
Yea, that was weaksauce...the whole "Big Bad Goddell" being lied to, and now you are going to pay shtick...i mean, you CANNOT lie to the Commish...and if you do and get away with it, there goes the entire integrity of t\he office!

Just stating the obvious, but would love to hear Felger's opinion. Is there any chance he cuts his vacation short and comes in on Thursday?
When was the last time you cut short your vacation with your family to go to fucking work? Unless someone is dead, I'm not doing that.

Brett Favre lied to the Commishioner about his crocks and christmas light picture and Goodell's secret police seemed to be unable to check a phone record.

Last night on "Sports Tonight," Chris Gasper was running circles around him talking about Bountygate and whether or not is was "worse" than Spygate. Gasper kept saying that from a morality standpoint, of course Bountygate is worse, but from a competitive standpoint, Spygate is far worse. Bountygate didn't put the Saints at an on-field advantage, whereas Spygate put the Patriots at one.
It's a very simple point, and for some reason Holley couldn't comprehend it. He kept shouting at Gasper, "but come on, which is worse! Come on, which is worse!"
I don't listen to "The Big Show" at all anymore, but it seems as if Holley has adapted some of Ordway's worst traits as his own. Last night on Comcast, he sounded exactly like Glenn would have in the same argument.

Well if the story is big enough, I could see his bosses ordering him back. Suppose Tom Brady suddenly called a press conference to announce his retirement on Friday. You gotta believe that Mike would be at that press conference. Fatso Franscesa has cut his vacation short in the past if there was a major story breaking or a major press conference. Well, the Saints bountygate and the Tebow story are both stories of national and local importance. If I was the station manager, I'd at least like my main host to maybe call in for a 20 or 30 minute segment. Francesa has done that in the past too. By the time Felger gets back on Monday, the story while still big, will have lost some of its immediacy. Anyway, to each his own. When was the last time you cut short your vacation with your family to go to fucking work? Unless someone is dead, I'm not doing that.

Without naming them, their old nemesis, Ron Borges, demolished their position in writing this morning:
http://www.bostonher...ceivejust_fate/
It's very simple:
1. Unless the NFL gets a handle on the violence and injury in this sport, it's faces a very serious long term economic risk.
2. It faces a more immediate legal and economic risk with hundreds of permanently damaged former players as plaintiffs.
3. As PC Friar notes, no business, much less a giant business, can function when executives feel free to look their boss square in the eye and lie through their teeth.
The "everybody does it" crap doesn't wash anymore.
In any case, their teeth gnashing is irrelevant. The owners understand the above, have Goodell on a contract for very big money for lots of years, and seem quite content with the way he is handling the big picture problems.

Felger is by far their #1 talent, I doubt anyone at the station has the power to 'order' him back from VK. Also doubt that Felger still has any press credentials, so he wouldn't be at any press conferences. At the most he'd cover it live from his show so the second the press conference was over (obviously if it occurred during his time slot) he could give his opinion asap.
He's admitted over and over that his role as a newsperson is long over, he's been in entertainer mode for awhile now.

Valentine said he doesn't expect Aceves to be used in a non-tradition closer role, but he wouldn't be afraid to bring hims back to the dugout then send him back to the 9th.
Valentine says he doesn't foresee many squeezes or sacrifice bunts. They will steal when opportunity arises.

Edit: Only reason I was listening was because they posted on twitter he was coming up...then I was quickly reminded how bad that show is.

No wonder BobbyV contracted to talk with Kay, because that was sad.

I honestly had almost forgotten about the Big Show. It's just not on my radar anymore it's so bad. They are so completely out of touch and seem like they have no idea what they are doing. Holley is completely overexposed on that show for the dullard he is.
It's unbelievable that's the "flagship" show for the same station that employs Bradford and Speier.
Well, I guess it's good to know now, that I don't have to remember to stream that weekly spot anymore.
