Red Sox manager Terry Francona said Bartolo Colon has assured the Red Sox that he will not exercise his May 1 opt-out clause.
Colon could be pitching in a rehab game by May 5. He will throw long toss at 170 feet today and has a bullpen session scheduled for Monday.

On my RSS feed this thread read: "Bartolo Colon will not exercise" and I thought what else is new.

As always, pitching depth is a very good thing.
