It just seems to me that he always plays relatively deep.Ellsbury was playing that deep because he was told to. They are in a no doubles defense.

Tito's in as much of a slump as the offense.

Ian Kennedy was so lost I felt sorry for him!
And the Sox have Buchholz.
Whoopee!
Good night, everybody!

There was no need to push the kid over 100 pitches, he's already given more than the team can ask for. Stupid stupid stupid.
Agreed.

I eagerly look forward to facing Scott Kazmir with a sweep on the line.

Papelbon will pitch in garbage time tomorrow
As long as garbage time comes in the ninth. The closer has to pitch the ninth. Papelbon is the closer. Papelbon has to pitch the ninth.

It's moronic reasoning like this that's led to Paps not being used in this series so far.As long as garbage time comes in the ninth. The closer has to pitch the ninth. Papelbon is the closer. Papelbon has to pitch the ninth.

Is Beckett going to feel like pitching tomorrow? I know him and Matsuzaka play that kind of thing by ear nowadays.
I eagerly look forward to facing Scott Kazmir with a sweep on the line.
Kazmir's not pitching tomorrow. It's Shields.

Meanwhile the Yankees rotation is in shambles. Things are going to go our way.

And someonme polease tell me what the fuck was wrong with the curveball striker three on Navarro that the umpire fucktwat called a fucking ball? Fucking Navarro was halfway out of the batter's box he thought it was strike three called.
next pitch he lines a fucking single. Iwamurra never should have fucking batted that fucking inning.

But I’m still peeved that Buchholz threw unnecessary pitches (115 PC) in the bottom of the 8th with a well rested and probably at this point bored to death Papelbon in the bullpen.

You people are upset? Really? Clay pitched better than I've ever seen him pitch in his life...and you guys are upset cause they lost 1 game? The step forward he seems to be taking is 10 x's as important as this one game.
Stop being rational! It has no place in a game thread!
I'm just mad because this is a game they should've won. I hate "wasting" great outings from any starter, and this one was spoiled by one bad pitch (with an assist by Dan Iassogna). It sucks.
But no, it's not the end of the world, and it doesn't detract from Buchholz. It just sucks.

Thank you. Buchholz was indeed tremendous tonight. His curve was sharp and he located his fastball really well. Most of the mistakes he made were with his change which was a fairly inconsistent (I believe that was a change Iwamura hit, not a curve as Remy called it). So there is indeed room for him to improve. No problem with him pitching the eighth (he absolutely blew Crawford away for the final out after giving up the HR). Nothing really wrong with the offense tonight either. Jackson was very sharp except for the control issues and I thought the Sox put up some good ABs against him - particularly the lefties. He was death to righties tonight. You people are upset? Really? Tough loss, but as you say, lots of silver lining in there.
