no question about it.Hey, guess what? We deserve it for this pitiful display of offense. Can we blame this game on the flu too?
the offense is playing like complete crap. rays pitching is shutting them down. pathetic

Yeah, but he pitched great even in that 8th, one bad call and one bad curve that Iwamura was clearly sitting on and he's losing. 8 innings, 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs, 9 k's is a tremendous outing. Offense hasn't helped him at all.Dammit. I was just saying to the spouse I would have taken the kid out as soon as anyone reached and let Papelbon get the other outs.
I'm sure many other armchair managers were saying the same.

he killed that ball. he has ever right to do that...I hope Iwamura gets a fastball in the face for that fucking pose.
You're Akinori fucking Iwamura.

Oh, please. Are you leading the legion of second-guessers now?Why do we have Papelbon on this team?
Buchholz's command had only gotten stronger as the game went on. Paps (and Okajima) are just as likely to leave a mistake pitch up in the zone as Clay is.

We are fans of the team Manny Ramirez plays for...No call for that fucking bat flip. Aki deserves one between the eyes tomorrow.

Reminds of that early 2004 game with Schilling vs. the Blue Jays.
Whatever, we totally deserved this shit. The offense has completely mailed it in tonight.
No, Schilling completely lost it at the end of the game. Buchholz had not completely lost it, he just was no longer the best choice to get the last four or five outs of a one-run game.

We are fans of the team Manny Ramirez plays for...
Exactly - it's a double standard, that's the way it is.
Besides...Manny Ramirez....Akinori Iwamura...Yeaaaaah.

What, you too? Do you actually watch these games? Leaving him in too long had NOTHING to do with that HR. Nothing whatsoever. There was no need to push the kid over 100 pitches, he's already given more than the team can ask for. Stupid stupid stupid.

Agreed. I was just thinking of the exhaustion factor, exacerbated by the bad call.Yeah, but he pitched great even in that 8th, one bad call and one bad curve that Iwamura was clearly sitting on and he's losing. 8 innings, 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs, 9 k's is a tremendous outing. Offense hasn't helped him at all.

I can live with Papi, A-Rod, Hafner, and Ramirez do that. I'll even give you The Prince and Ryan Howard. We are fans of the team Manny Ramirez plays for...
But AKINORI IWAMURA? Not pussy slap hitters like that. I liked him until tonight.

Some folks were calling for Papelbon as soon as that single fell in RF. He hasn't pitched since Tues. Perfect time to get some work (5 outs) in and get a much needed win.Oh, please. Are you leading the legion of second-guessers now?
Buchholz's command had only gotten stronger as the game went on. Paps (and Okajima) are just as likely to leave a mistake pitch up in the zone as Clay is.

You guys do realize that it was just a bad pitch? Right?
Exactly...Oki, Lopez or paps could have come in and made 1 bad pitch too. It happens. It doesn't mean the kid was gassed or should have pulled. He was still strong
