That's just a dumb comment... Mamula was a combine freak. Gholston dominated the #1 pick in the draft in the biggest game of the year.McShay called Gholston "Mike Mamula" the other day....doesn't like him at all.

Awesome. Mrs. Long has a "high motor" and "bouncing energy" she must be fun in the sack
She has held up well. Must be the amphetamines. Howie did play during the speed era.

What is a draft without crazy Jets fans? I talked to at least 100 Gang Green supporters outside Radio City in jerseys ranging from Riggins to O'Brien to Jenkins (as in new Jet DT Kris Jenkins). Ninety percent want Darren McFadden and plan to boo loudly if the Raiders take the running back at No. 4. Radio City may erupt at about 3:40. One guy's whole body was painted green with "In McFadden We Trust" stenciled in. When I announced to a big group of Jets faithful that Oakland might take McFadden, half yelled out "Gholston," and the other half "trade down." I was surprised, not a single Jet fan wanted Matt Ryan. Most of them said he's a bust waiting to happen. --Andrew Perloff

Inaccurate statement. I don't know where people are getting this. Gholston dominated the other side of the Michigan line. Did he create a sack off the edge against Jake Long? Yes. Dominate? No. He dominated against RT Steve Schilling, who is a Guard this year at Michigan.

Fair enough. I guess a more accurate statement would be that the OSU D manhandled the Michigan O. But I was too drunk and freezing cold and wet to pay all that much attention to Gholston.Inaccurate statement. I don't know where people are getting this. See one or two clips over and over again, it suddenly becomes gospel.
edit: espn.com says the Ravens are trying to move from 8 to 2

I have no clue what the Pats will do and whenever they do it, I'll be in no position to judge whether I like the move or not, but the fanboy in me would like to see them draft a player in the top 10.
And the Pats not having their own first rounder is really killing me right now.

The trade offer the Rams apparently gave Baltimore to move down seems to be based more on the "new" chart than the old one. It was 200 points more than the #2 is worth on the new chart, but 600 less than the old chart.

Thank you. I mean, there are people literally seeing ONE clip of Gholston beating Long and concluding that he is a stud, not a combine freak. I am sure he was a fabulous college player, but he isn't some LT redux.
I do not buy the Gholston hype - I trust the people who follow these teams and extensively scout these guys, and they say he disappears in games.
EDIT - That said, if the Pats pick him (which I don't see as likely), I will trust that they disagree with this common view.

Amen. One searches in vain for any facet of the broadcast to which he adds the slightest scintilla of value.Berman and Bob Ley have been with ESPN the longest. Ley is still a functional, intelligent sportscaster without an outsized on-camera ego. Berman is a buffoon.

Herm: We want 15 picks, and I want 75% of them starting next year. The Chiefs, led by Nos. 5 and 17, have 13 picks.
SORRY ABOUT THAT.

This was more entertaining when he was ruining his former team. I'm still pissed the Jets got David Harris.

I wish there was a Berman mute button
I have always imagined what it would be like for Joe Morgan and Chris Berman to tag team in the booth one night for ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

Hello Friends
I missed the memo. Why do players wear twisty-ties around their elbows? Is it a quick method of stopping the blood loss in case their arms are accidentally amputated?

The boos for New England's choice, whenever it comes, will be epic.
Second only to the boos for the Jets pick.

I would love for the Jets to pass on McFadden then have the Pats take him just to witness the crowd reaction.
The only thing that would make it better is if Ryan falls to them and they draft him. There would be a riot.
Second only to the boos for the Jets pick.
Well played.
