Good pressure early just gotta keep at it and they'll start going in before to long. Montreal seems to be flying around hopefully they get a little winded and slow down before the end of the period.

So as someone completely new to this sport...is it a good thing that they have had so many shots at a goal but haven't gotten one in yet? Is that considered a good sign or bad because you don't always get clean shots and you need to make it when you do?

It means they are getting chances, which is a good thing. It means that the opposing goalie is playing well, which is a bad thing. It's still early though. Time will tell.

Julien has to take Murray off the top line if he wants to win this game. Between Savard's cycling and Lucic's bruising, they need someone that can move around and take the shots.

Good start. Keep firing pucks on Price and getting quality shifts. Both teams look amped early.

Hate to be too negative but this already has the look of being "one of those nights". Hope I'm wrong.

Well, at least Kessel is flying which should bode well for Bruins.

Stupid question: Why did the NHL change the the home teams to wearing their old road unifroms at home and the old home ones on the road? Visually, to me, having watched a bunch of Bruins games in the 80s, it seems like this game is being played at the garden, not the forum (thinking in an 80s mindset; yeaj I know this is the bell centre though obviously).

It has seemed like part of Claude's strategy was to punish Montreal's defensemen physically throughout this series in the hopes that they would wear down. So far tonight the Hab's D-men are playing quick, stand em up hockey.
The Bruin's are going to get precious few chances tonight.
They MUST convert.

Wow, they have had about 5 really good scoring chances so far.

Is there anything scarier for a Bruins fan than the puck on Thomas' stick. The guy is a unique goalie to say the least, but with the puck on his stick he is awful.

Power play time.

I think it's because team colors (Bruins would be black, Canadiens would be red) should be worn at home instead of generic white sweaters.

It's insane how an entire playoff hockey game can get your heart rate up close to "last three outs of the World Series" level. That being said, they need to start finishing those chances, maybe a bit more willing to take the slightly awkward wrist shot instead of sputtering out in front of the net.

Ten minutes in and we see our first PP. I was thinking that the refs forgot to bring them out on the ice tonight.

Price is a beast tonight, but the b's will get something by him if they keep this pressure up

Gotta love the pressure the Bruins have been able to exert. When we're in their zone, we are in control, and that's a helluva good sign. If Kessel keeps up this level of play, he's gonna be a helluva player. Also, Lucic has looked really good so far. I wasn't able to see a lot of the late season games living down here, so seeing him skating so well, passing, etc, is just plain astounding.

But more importantly so far, Price has been the better goalie. Thomas will have to step up big starting now.
