So, in a way, the Eagles = the Patriots.
Elite offense and inconsistent - at best - defense riddled by injuries.
Yes I have been thinking the same thing except, the offense is more inconsistant but more explosive (see the Redskins game as well as this last week for examples).
The defense is now getting really beaten up and doesn't have the coaching (IMO) of the Pats.
So yeah the Eagles are the NFC Pats, but I will say the eagles when the offense fires can beat ANY team, but I think they can lose to average to bad teams (eg Chicago which was a joke and could cost the 2 seed).
Also worth noting that the 2 seed might mean more to the Eagles than most, in part because of Reid's just crazy record after a bye week. 12-0. Some random analysis I found
I would also note that the Eagles can beat anyone in the NFC they destroyed the Falcons without Vick 31-17 (all be it at home).
If you look at the 4 losses
Home vs Green Bay, Kolb with a BAD start Packers better then (healthier). Again the Iggles fell behind huge and rallied HARD late to get within one score. Pre Vick. Difference offence IMO
Home vs Skins. McNabb home coming, Vick hurt on opening drive. Absolutley no excuses to lose this one frankly.
Away vs Titan. Again no Vick and still was all in hand until the secondary fell appart in 4th Q and Britt got 2 TDs and like 200 yards plus a pick six from Kolb. This led to PAtterson starting at CB.
Away vs Chicago. Vick started this one, Jay Cutler... 4 TDs 0 INTs... really.. another furious comeback from 31-13 to 31-26 and came down to an onside kick with sub 2 mins to go.
1) The secondary is not good. Really. And if Asante isn't healthy it's bad.
2) A lead vs the Eagles is not safe. That is one come back from 31-10 another from 31-13 to 31-26 both vs playoff teams away.
3) The Eagles only lost one game where Vick played the whole game (vs Chicago)
