Lineups for today's game. It should be a good pitching matchup with prized prospect Homer Bailey against Jon Lester. Jonathan Van Every replaces Ellsbury in CF with Crisp still on the shelf. Big Papi gets a day off as well. The Reds' other prized prospect Joey Votto is starting at 1B as well.

Here's the lineup:
Ryan Freel 8
Scott Hatteberg D
Brandon Phillips 4
Edwin Encarnacion 5
Joey Votto 3
Juan Castro 6
Drew Anderson 7
Jolbert Cabrera 9
Paul Bako 2
Homer Bailey

Dustin Pedroia 4
Kevin Youkilis 3
Jason Varitek D
Manny Ramirez 7
Mike Lowell 5
JD Drew 9
Julio Lugo 6
Jonathan Van Every 8
Kevin Cash 2
Jon Lester

Extra Bases

Lester's 1st:

Swinging bunt hit
Long single, 1st/3rd
Grounder to Youk, steps on 1st, throw to home, pickle, double play.
Ground out to third

Vintage in-and-out-of-trouble Lester. Though the hit by Freel was just a 'lucky' infield hit. Great play by Youkilis for the double play, though.

Pedroia robbed of a double on a liner to left.
Youkilis flies out just shy of the warning track in center.
Vintage Varitek strike out, swinging on a fastball up in the zone.

1-2-3 go the Sox.

Joey Votto strikes out on a nasty curve by Lester.
Juan Castro grounds out on a hop to Cora at short. Cora throws high to Youkilis who makes a great play to pull it down for the out.
Drew T Anderson nails a curve down the line for a double.
Orlando Cabrera's older brother Jolbert with an RBI single to left. Drew T Anderson scores.
Paul Bako walks.
Lester falls behind 3-0 to Ryan Freel. Manages the count full before Freel grounds out to Lowell at third.

1-0 Reds after 1 and a half.

Manny flies out to left.
Lowell singles with a flare into left center.
JD Drew lines a single to left field. Lowell moves up to second.
Cora smokes a single into center field. Hit too hard for Lowell to score. Bases loaded.
Van Every strikes out swinging.
Kevin Cash singles up the middle. Lowell scores. Drew scores on a poor throw home. Cora stays at second. Doug Mirabelli dies a little inside.
Pedroia robbed on a good play by Phillips at second.

2-1 Red Sox after two full.

You all know that the Twins are playing the Yankees on ESPN, right?
Twinkies ahead on a Young HR against Kennedy.

Really appreciate your updates, Andrew.

Edit: Now 2-1 Yankees on RBIs by Betemit (who looks very good) and Damon.

Apparently, a groundout to Cora by Hattenberg followed by Brand Phillips lineout to Manuel Ramirez. Nice clean inning or Lester.

Youkilis walks on four straight pitches. The third pitch was a poor curveball that almost hits him.
Varitek flies out to the warning track. Close, but no cigar.
Manny singles to short center. Youkilis to second.
Lowell flies out to Freel in center. Youkilis tags and moves up to third.
Drew lines out to Votto at first.

2-1 Sox after three full.

You are very perceptive, my friend.

By the way, the Yankees are beating the Twinkies 4-1. The Ys can hit, but in addition, Gomez's play in the field has been poor.

So Andrew has stopped giving updates.
Looks as tho MDC got them out 1.2.3, with a fly-out and 2 strike-outs.
Anyone got anything on the RS 1/2 of the inning yet?

Just an update on the MFY.

JtC gave up a monster shot to Jones, then promptly smashed the next batter in the ankle.

If a real first baseman is playing instead of Moss this is probably a 0 run inning, by the way.

The sixth inning was basically his fault. Three balls he should have handled or at least stopped are what lead to that being such a big inning. It was five unearned runs. He hasn't looked natural there all spring.

Sean McDonough in the booth with Castiglione & O'Brien. Ripping Clemens now.

"The whole thing is pathetic, and he did it to himself."

"He threw his wife under the bus on TV in front of the whole nation. It doesn't get any worse than that."

"A lot of people have reminded me that my dad coined the phrase Texas Con Man, and wondered what he'd be writing about Clemens were he still alive today. He always got the sense that Roger always had trouble telling the truth."

I really miss Sean's pull-no-punches frankness.

It looks as tho Moss ended a bases-loaded one-out threat by the Sox by hitting into a DP. Not his day.
