God, patsfans.com might be the worst message board ever.

Their only redeeming factor is that they are great at starting new threads.

Love this exchange from the "moss signs for 5 years/52 million thread":

Someone needs to lock and delete this thread. This board is above crap like this.

No its not

nah... let's just edit the title with a big OPINION sign or something. it's a better read than half the moss threads today.

Hard to believe, but Jets boards, Charger boards, and Colts boards are even worse.

Co-sign, except the head out of Nip's ass part, I don't get that one.

5/52 is a lot. The franchise amount for WR in 08 is 7.8 million but I think if we did franchise Moss that would be his last season in New England. 10.4 mil in 08-09 for Moss is certainly a bargain after his 07 season. The only problem I foresee is loudmouths on WEEI calling a contact of that nature a mistake because he doesn't duplicate his record breaking season. If this rumor is to be believed let's hope Moss continues to produce at a high level, I see no real reason why he wouldn't, even if he does lose a step or two.

Featured On: MyFoxBoston Free agency started next Thursday and the Patriots have yet to announce a new contract that will keep Randy Moss in Foxboro for the foreseeable future. Should we be worried? It sure feels like we should, but I've been told to stop worrying and that "This deal will get done". This news according to a source who has direct knowledge of the negotiations with the Patriots and Randy Moss.

I thought the report said only 25 mil was guaranteed?

How about these boards...

Rams: Takes the rotoworld-added blurb and posts it as if it was coming from Schefter. http://www.clanram.c...moss-run-29133/

Browns: Takes Tomase's out-of-his-ass-guess as to who might go after Randy as the teams most interested/where he will land. http://mbd.scout.com...1...7&t=2129998

Rotoworld picks up on PFT's report:

Profootballtalk.com is "picking up preliminary, uncorroborated rumors" that Randy Moss has agreed to stay in New England.
Most signs point to Moss re-signing with the Patriots early this week, if not on Monday afternoon. Stay tuned.

Hopefully we can give Skrub his new thread before dinner time.

Talks between the Patriots and Randy Moss heated up Monday as both sides are working toward getting a deal done Monday, according to sources.

On Friday, Moss started to listen to offers from other teams. On Saturday, he explored possibilities with other franchises and even discussed the possibility of reuniting with his former Vikings teammate, Daunte Culpepper, on another team.

While all this was gong on, Moss stayed in touch with the Patriots with hopes of reaching a deal. Friends of Moss believe a deal with the Patriots is imminent but neither the Patriots nor his agent, Tim DiPiero, are commenting.
