Any bets on how many times a Chevy "THIS IS OUR COUNTRY!!" ad is played tonight?

I too am unusually unproductive today due to this extra day of waiting between my Patriots fix.

Call me whimsical and shallow but I much prefer the proverbial hot-babe-in-front-of-cooler beer ad campaigns and the more of them the better.

It's really windy in DC right now. Forecast for Baltimore tonight says gusts could reach over 50 MPH. Faulk and Welker might have to be the staples of the passing attack tonight.

Absolutely seeing as the 4th season hasn't even come out on DVD yet and will be a Christmas present for many fans of the goddamn show. Goddammit!

Get HBO, cheap ass.

Pirates of the Carribean 3 hasn't come out on DVD yet. Can I not talk about that either?

You could, but the taint of it's awful suck would probably destroy the SoSH server worse than the search function.

(I actually never saw it, but how could the second sequel to a movie about a ride be any worse than that description).

Looks like my son and I will freeze our asses off, cause it will be around 30 with those gusts. Yes, I'm taking him -- last time Pats played here was 1996, when the Ravens were all offense/no defense. That was a game in which Testaverde caught fire in the 4th qtr and damned near killed Parcells (and me).

I'll probably wind up spending half the game staring at the ESPN crawl on the bottom of the screen, waiting for "MLB" to come around on the 18/58 update. I have a love/hate relationship with the Winter Meetings.

These lines are extravagant b/c Vegas is determined to get back at least some of what it had to pay until last week.

I thought that the line was set such that equal money gets bet on both sides, and is adjusted as bets come in to keep it so. Thus: (a) Vegas pays out equal money to what it takes in, minus the 5% -- or whatever it is -- juice (i.e., Vegas doesn't actually gamble, they just always make their cut); and (b) the line has nothing to do with what Vegas thinks the final score will be, rather, it is the line that Vegas thinks will split gamblers (a money bet-weighted) 50%.

I'm not a gambler, so somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: oh, and 33-6

They try but don't always succeed. And they have to maintain a line.

Oh, and theproduct: Too bad the snow isn't supposed to come until tomorrow night. That would be fun.

This is apparently a common myth - the line does move in response to betting, but they don't just try and split the action. I'm basing this largely off a Q&A with a Vegas bookmaker off the Freakanomics blog.

I have a 7-10 page research paper due tomorrow at 4. I've had all semester to do this. Not a word has been written yet. The Patriots are on in two and a half hours.

It would improve my mood immensly if say, Tom Brady threw 3 or 4 touchdowns.

Look up some sources before the game, then crush the paper tomorrow during work. I did that a couple times going for my degree.

I have a 30 minute presentation to do on Thursday, an hour long presentation to do on Friday, a 40 page requirements document (half-written) due on Thursday, a 30 page systems analysis report (75% written) due Thursday, 5 separate other papers of varying lengths (4-8 pages mostly) on interface design - none written - due Thursday, a 7-10 page paper on topics in philosophy of religion due Thursday, and a journal detailing all the readings in that religion class due Thursday, supposed to be ~60 pages with ~15 written.

I'm in better shape than I was at the end of last semester, I guess.

It feels colder than that outside.

The wind is howling, the crowd will be liquored up and belligerent, and the Ravens D will be fired up, sky high. Good test for the Pats offense.

I have a 12+ paper to do on Shared Memory Architectures in multiprocessor systems to work on. 5 pages right now. Should be good to go. But the temptation of eating a Subway feast, along with Survivorman on discovery followed by the Pats game makes life much much harder.

I guess Wilson is officially 8th or whatever on the depth chart.

With E. Jackson and C. Brown both inactive, I think that means two usual inactives should be active (assuming Brown would theoretically replace Colvin). One is LeKevin Smith but I can't think of who the other would be.

Berman just had an interview with Bob Griese and Mercury Morris on the ESPN pre-game. Hilarious stuff from Morris, after Griese said 'there is plenty of room on the mountain top" Morris said "except not on Mt. Everest, they would only be our equal." Then when asked if he would mind if the Patriots went undefeated he said "Every husband needs a wife." Good provocative stuff from Morris, Griese distanced himself immediately from that statement. Ha.

Answered my own question, looks like it's Mel Mitchell finally returning. With an extra DL instead of LB wonder if we see some 4-3. Billick apparently told ESPN guys they want to pound it on the ground tonight.

Makes me wonder if he is on his way out after this year. He has really seemed to regress the last couple of years. Its a shame and the patriots don't need any more holes in the defense.

The two big surprises to me were Kevin Faul exhorting the offense and Randy Moss encouraging the OLine.
