I'm so excited I can't leave yet ! And THANKS to Remy over on NESN for calling that travesty about the A-Rod/Borus jive during the game for what is was...

And I was thinking that the Yankees would announce their next manager during the 9th inning. But Boras is even more classless! More classless than the Steinbrenners: that's quite an achievement. Posted Image

Another World Series sweep -- nothing can detract from that. Kudos to Tito, Theo and the whole front office, who did their jobs well, and didn't make themselves the story.

Kudos to Larry Lucchino too. After the gorilla suit fiasco and eventual Theo rehire, he stayed out of the way and kept building the franchise.

And because those kids incorporated into the Sox roster (Ellsbury, Pedroia, Papelbon) have paid dividends, they deserve some mention.

Agreed. I saw both Games 3 and 4, but was out in a place where I couldn't gamethread in both cases...but was with you all in spirit. No "you only win one every 86 years" garbage anymore, curse absolutely annihilated, and the Yankees in disarray...for a Red Sox fan, it doesn't get much better than this.

Congratulations to everyone...and farewell to negativity. This is the continuing of the era of the Age...well, see my nickname for the rest.

Thanks for a great season.

Thanks everyone. I've loved being a fan of this laundry through bad and good times. Tonight makes all that shit worth it. Night after night, following on tv, the computer on my xm in the garage. This is worth it. This is why we are fans. It will never get old. I will never take it for granted.

Meh. Hearing A-Rod has opted out of his Yankee contract during the game where the Sox win the WS is like finding a dollar down the back of the sofa. On which you're doing Beyonce at the time. It doesn't exactly make you sad, but it sure as hell isn't what you're gonna remember about the evening.

I have not posted much this year, and not at all in the playoffs. Almost posted in this thread before the game, but didn't due to I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery reasons.

Congrats to the 2007 World Series Champions. It has been a fun ride and for once, I am glad there is no baseball tomorrow.

It's me...(and I'm not a guy )

It was worth it, and I always got to post (like I am now) a million times in the post-game part of the thread.

I always thought of you guys trudging through the night to the library to catch the game on a laptop, then trudging home again. VERY poetic.

We lurkers have certainy made sacrifices for this team.

GO SOX!!!!!!

I just did. It felt good.

We won. Again. I'm pleased, but I'm not too pleased. I'm not overly pleased. I'm just a normal, well-adjusted level of pleased proportionate to the event.

I'm really liking this whole post-2004, not-being-in-a-constant-state-of-dramatic-angst, just-like-any-other-fanbase-except-louder-and-more-knowledgeable thing. It feels good to be a Red Sox fan without being a public oddity.

I have to agree with this. Once we got past Cleveland, i felt the hard part of the journey was over. Not complacent, but in a practical sense i felt we had the better team, with the best manager and the right approach.

We're the team to hate now. Which is nice.

2004 was the consumation of a long love affair ....but this..2007. This is better. It's confirmation we badass.
Classy of G38 to mention Bagdadjamie and SoSH.
