So a year ago, did anyone think the Sox would be up 3-0 in the WS with Jon Lester starting what could be the series clincher?

I can't believe we're facing the prospect of a second World Series sweep in four years. Absolutely amazing job by the front office.

EDIT: And the players, I guess.

WINK!

Bring it on home.

Six in a row. I don't know if you'd call it "irony", but if I recall correctly, the RS have not had a winning streak of more than five all year . . . until now. Whatever it is and whatever it may be called, may it continue to happen!

Win it so we can retire Shari Lewis, who being dead, needs to lie down.
Let's end this song for this year--please.

We're foolish to count this Rockies team out...they've won 21 out of the their last 25 games.

Bring it back to Boston tonight. (I think I have only one more late night in me.)

I've been absent for most of these threads, and I probably will be tonight, but for God's sake just do it. I think it goes without saying that this would be a fantastic culmination to a great season.

Win please.

This series is now like a terminally ill relative. You know they're going to die. You're hoping it'll be peaceful. But the end result is preordained, death.

What a game it was for the brown-eyed handsome man! Coco 'Wally Pipp' Crisp will have fond memories, a World Series ring, and a new job next April.

WIN it for all of us lady lurkers waiting in the Jacoby Ellsbury line (and all you 'flexible' guys too, just remember that we got here first).

The Sox were 9-2 in Jon Lester's 11 starts this year, and 18-8 for his 26 career starts. I see know reason for the trend to change. I feel good about tonight. Lester is a winner. We shall win!

Well, I agree with Andrew, first time I wanted the season to end is tonight. Lester, your road back as been long and memorable. He beat cancer, beating the Rockies should be easy. Other than that, let's not let this team get off the mat. We got them down, let's finish them off and go buy a new hat and T-shirt this week.

We're on our longest winning streak of the season, at just the right time. Never fükk with a winning streak! So with apologies to all those who are sick and tired of the 20th Century, it's WINston, one more time for Victory!

History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.

Posted Image

WINston thought about the Rockies too:

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

Here's wishing the Rockies another night of enthusiastic failure.

the water has been so filthy lately, i think i have dysentery.

i've not had much access to a computer this weekend, but i have had the fortuitous opportunity of watching the weekend games right in the belly of the beast (well, close enough; i'm at a very quiet and subdued martha's vineyard)

are we really about to go 8-0 in WS games in the francona era?
yes, we are.

let's get it on.

That lineup worked pretty well last night (duh  ). Wonder if Lester can hit. 0 for 4 for the Red Sox, 3 Ks. Maybe he can bunt. He pitched well in September, now do it in Octubre, Jon.

Ok, T minus 2 hours until the last first pitch of the 2007 season. Pedroia needs to pull a Damon and get the last leg of the championship run started out right.

I was thinking about that too. Score first and watch the Rockies go into the slumped shoulder body language. Damon was good at that. I think Pedroia is too.
