Good evening, bitches.
Last night really freaked me out. The win itself was awesome, but I experienced this for the second time now: lightning in a playoff Red Sox game, in which something amazing happened.
The first time was WS Game 4, 2004. I was watching the game, in the 8th inning, already imagining what was about to unfold, when thunder struck the power supply in my block, and my lights went out for about 90 minutes. In those 90 minutes, the Sox were world champions. I turned my TV on to see Orlando Cabrera chugging an over-sized bottle of something close to champagne. Note: back then, I lived in São Vicente, and there, power never fails. In my entire life there - until 2005 -, it only happened once.
The second time was last night. Power didn't go out here, but the sky was definitely angry. And about 10 minutes after the lightning started, JD Drew hit a grand slam.
I am freaked out.
It's as on as it will ever be.
