Beckett looking as vulnerable as Sabathia.
Beckett will settle down. Actually whoever does first will win tonight. C'mon Josh. Settle down NOW!

No comment on whether he should've slid or not, I'm stuck in class and can't watch at the moment. I just hate the phrase.Uhh... sliding is part of the game. Don't be an ass.

Can't we get one game where the pitching and offense plays well.
Game 1

Yep. Sounds like they gave him an offer he couldn't accept. Is it me or does everyone else know that Torre turned down the MFYs and won't return?

We had it.
That was Game 1.
There is no such thing as a Fake Edit, I am just an idiot who can't figure out how to put a secondary thought into my posts without this crutch: K it is. Thanks, Josh. Lil' late, but we'll take it.

It was immortalized in the sweep of the Angels, by Patman's radio caller: Well, I just wanted to say, I'm just so proud of these boys. They played their hearts out this weekend and I'm just so proud of them. They play the game the right way and it's just so great to see them playing so hard and I'm just so proud of them. I'll hang up now and listen.
Yep, I hate it too.
OK then. Not sliding is playing the game the wrong way. Better?

There is the "right way" to play the game and the "Manny" way to play the game.
In the overall picture, I'll take the Manny way ( but only from Manny)
Out of that inning relatively cheaply, but Josh looks fairly hittable tonight.
Let's hope he settles down and CC doesn't.

at least it seems that way. and yet vmart is the highest on the team with a .375 avg.apparently the entire indians team is batting 400 this series. no wonder were losing.

At least if they're in that mode they can't gidp. The offense had better not go into their "the bats up my a-hole not in my hands" mode like they have the last 2 games.
Let's go boys, RUNS.
#273

Well of course they can't if there's nobody on base.At least if they're in that mode they can't gidp.

I haven't seen the replay, but it looked like VMart had the plate blocked and Manny would have grounded to a halt about a foot shy of the plate.I have rerun the Manny play on Tivo a dozen times and there is NO WAY a slide makes any difference at the plate.

I can live with that, JtB. Of course, another glass of WIN will help.OK then. Not sliding is playing the game the wrong way. Better?

Really? I've done the same and had the exact opposite feeling. Agree to disagree, I guess.I have rerun the Manny play on Tivo a dozen times and there is NO WAY a slide makes any difference at the plate.

By the time I got back from work, the news had broken, and there were 200+ responses in the Torre Walks thread. Is it me or does everyone else know that Torre turned down the MFYs and won't return?
Seeya, Joe, you'd make a great commissioner for MLB. Put Selig's suit out to pasture.

Is there any other song they can play with cleveland in it?
"Look Out Cleveland", by The Band.

Trying be to positive, at least he didn't get hurt doing it...I have rerun the Manny play on Tivo a dozen times and there is NO WAY a slide makes any difference at the plate.

If Manny could do a hard hook slide, I think he would have had a chance. Even better, a full body Cannonball would knock the catcher into the middle of next week.Really? I've done the same and had the exact opposite feeling. Agree to disagree, I guess.
If you're gonna be out at home, take a few of the enemy with you

Indeed. All I can think of when Coco is up to bat is "If you're going to gidp, just strike out"Baserunner. Yummy. OK, Coco, time to do something good.
