Looking for reasons for hope, there is, at least, this: http://www.baseball-...200607310.shtml . This was a few weeks before our 2006 free fall began.
How about Wily Mo Pena w/ 3 hits and 3 runs batted in? Who is this guy?

Okay...so what happened to the whole "work the count" thing again?
Hard to work the count against Byrd, he consistently throws strikes.

Bird throws strikes, he went 45 innings this year without a walk,
you have to hit him.

You don't work the count against Byrd. All he does is throw strikes.
You can work the count by fouling balls off too, you know. And I hardly think his stuff is the "swing and miss" kind.

There is no such thing as a Fake Edit, I am just an idiot who can't figure out how to put a secondary thought into my posts without this crutch: Shit, we do not look good at all. Let's hope Wake's knuckle flutters like a leaf in the wind.

That last pitch wasn't a strike. This team is pressing big time.

The Sox are swinging aggressively, but Byrd is not pounding the zone, he's nibbling. Adjustment bears watching.
Yeah he is, he threw first pitch strikes to everyone.

That sucks the broadcasters even shut up so they can hear the crowd..they really want Cleveland to win this one those assholes....
I doubt that the Fox execs do. Ratings for a Cleveland/Colorado series? Not impressive.

Usually pretty effective against the Sox.
We'll need to hit some homers, no walks tonight.
Go Timmy, you need to be at least decent tonight.
