It was announced 25 mins ago on WEEI. Mirabelli 8th.

I guess Francona stick with "his guys" then. Disappointing. I was hoping to see Ellsbury at the top of the order and Coco riding some pine.

One win to a slain heart, echos in the dark, a ripple in the river of life reverberates back, illuminates the night.

Slight, is the feeling, a calling beyond our ceiling. Time the map points out, its the moment. Do or die, the iron eye cast upon the plate, a knuckle ball's fate is faith. It dances like its 1973, and we see. We see.

What it is to be.

WIN.

I love how Bellhorn came thru after we stuck with him in 2004 but seriously, does Coco have to bat less than .100 to get Ellsbury a start over him?

I am sick of Francona saying how great Coco's defense is and how he doesn't care how he hits.

News flash Tito, you can play stellar defense and only allow one run but if you score zero YOU STILL LOSE!

Lets set the over/under on how many walks combined between manny and Lowell at 4 tonight since they have ZERO protection behind them.

Not that I'm trying to encourage the J.D. Drew bashers out there, but here are the numbers for Drew vs. Bobby Kielty against Paul Byrd.

Drew is 2-for-10 career off Byrd.

Kielty is 10-for-30 career off Byrd. But, in case you think those numbers might be a product of success a while ago, here are the breakdowns. Kielty was 2-for-6 in 2006 off Byrd with a double. He went 4-for-11 (.364) with a double, two home runs, and five RBI in 2005. Before that, Kielty went 2-for-10 off Byrd, with both hits home runs in 2002 and 2-for-3 in 2001.

Amalie hates JD as much as we do.

Bryd talks about struggling with Porn and God

Alipour: Do you plan to up the chatter with God when you're on the mound facing the potent Red Sox lineup? Maybe try to get a tip on how to pitch to Ortiz?

Byrd: (Laughs) Our talks don't increase or decrease based on the competition. Now, if he wants to give me a tip on Ortiz, I'd certainly welcome that. And since he's listening to us right now, "God, if you've got something, fire away."

There's a simple way to ease the worry of Wake's start: Score early and often off Byrd. They need something from Pedroia tonight. I think they'll get it.

I don't know about Ellsbury hitting lead off, but I think it's shear cowardice on the part of Francona and/or Theo to not play Ellsbury.

So, in the prediction thread I predicted the Sox would win one of games 3 and 4 with either Wake or Matsuzaka tossing a stinker. Matsuzaka decided it would be him, so now it's on you Timmah. 8 IP, 1R, 6K or you make a liar out of me. (Or worse, a Steve Phillips)

Get er done, Wake.

Wakefield has been leaving his pitches high in the zone and the results have not been good. Hopefully, this was due to his injury and that problem has been fixed. Either way, Wakes + Fox TV coverage = a long evening. GO SOX! WIN. Posted Image Posted Image

We're winning this game. No questions asked. No I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery needed. Sack up and get timely hitting combined with solid pitching. Wakefield has been there before and he can get it done. This is where you truly know what kind of character a combination of 25 guys have. Do we have what it takes to do it when the going isn't good? Everyone can jump on the bandwagon when the team is winning(Hello Denver, Colorado), but you learn about yourself in the tough times.

This team is too talented and has too much heart not to make a run in this series. It starts tonight with #49. Get it done.

I couldn't agree more. This will be a great game tonight. This team WILL make a run. If there is anyone who sacks up for the Sox when this team needs it most, it is Tim Wakefield.

You can't win the whole enchilada without overcoming some adversity in October. Time to man up. Climb on Timmeh's creaky back. Better yet, pound the crap out of Byrd so that Wake doesn't have to do the heavy lifting.

I'm thinking a nice 10-2 win, 6 innings from Wake followed by three mop-up innings from Lester.
