Meh...don't much feel like anymore baseball this evening, but it is a potential pennant clinching game. It deserves a thread.

Bottom of the 2nd. Still no score.

Agreed, I think everyone has had enough baseball for tonight. Go Diamondbacks.

Yeah. I didn't expect a party...

Helton squanders a RISP opportunity by popping out to 3rd. Still 1-0 DBacks.

Typical Rockies luck... a bloop double... Rockies lead 2-1.

Rockies take the lead on a bloop pinch hit double by Smith. 2-1 Rockies.

This team is incredible.

Why can't $150 million+ buy luck anymore?

Conner Jackson giveth and taketh away.

Matsui with an RBI single after Conner misplays a routine grounder at 1st.

Matt Holiday breaks it open with a 3 run jack. 6-1 Rockies.

Typical Rockies luck... a bloop double... Rockies lead 2-1.

To summarize: a bloop for 2 runs, Conor Jackon boot, run scoring single and then a 3 run bomb by Holliday, and it's 6-1 Colorado.

They're starting to look like the 2001 Pats - finding themselves as good as anybody by the end of the year, and getting every break imaginable (tuck play) and turning iron into gold (field goal in the snow)....the two young pitchers are good, only Fogg sucks, and their front line bullpen is nasty.

Either CLE or the Sox will have their hands full.

This Rockies crowd is pretty fired up. Nice to see.

I'll be honest: I'm really scared that the Sox'll have to play four games in Colorado. (Note my cautious optimism).

Rockies will only host Games 3, 4 and 5 of the World Series.

sucks for Owings. He was making some great pitches there, getting bad contact, grounders, swinging strikes... and after that error, it all came undone for him.

From the perspective of whoever makes it out of the A.L., at least the Rockies have to sit on their momentum/golden streak for eight days until they play again. That doesn't help them one bit.

What did that asshat Byrnes do this time to make another opposing fanbase hate him?

That really wasn't fair to leave Owings in for Holliday. The kid was competing, but it was over and you just knew Holliday smelled blood and he was going to jack it. Melvin should have pulled him after the Matsui hit.

Whined that the D-Backs were outplaying the Rockies. The Rockies were just getting lucky breaks.

To his credit he claims he was just trying to fire his team up and I believe him... but all it did was pissed off the Rockies and their fans.

So no team has ever swept both the LDS and LCS in the same year? That's a pretty incredible accomplishment (assuming the score holds). Rockies fans just have to hope the long layoff doesn't hurt the team.

As an aside, Arizona has looked like complete crap in this series.

I like Matt Herges and Yorvit Torrealba, I guess. I hate that the Rockies are about to win. Then again, it is Colorado, and watching years of games at Coors has taught me that there is no "safe" lead at Coors, even with the humidor.

So were will this run that they're on get rated? They've still got some work to do when they get into the WS, but this is ridiculous. For so many reasons.

GG is prophetic. Snyder goes yard to pull the DBacks to a 2 run deficit. 6-4 Rockies.
