I love it when it comes up in other sports too.One nice thing if the Rockies end up winning this game - everyone will cue the "only team in baseball history to come back from being down 3-0 in a best of 7 series..." bit. Never gets old.
"The Spurs now have a three games to none lead over the Jazz. The last team in any sport to blow a lead like that was the 2004 new york yankees" or something like that. I just love the idea of some mfy fan being unexpectedly confronted with the ignominy of his team.

Here comes the GIDP..
Well, almost. The D'backs leaving men on base in more predictable than J.D. Drew grounding out to 2nd in August.
The fact that I'm even watching this game has me starting to question my life choices. Things need to change. I need to change....

I think he's up for arb.
Will the Rockies offer him arb (and the $) if he's not the closer?

just saw the first reference to 2004....god that's fucking sweet...
I find myself rooting for any team that has a 3-0 lead, in any sport, just so I can keep hearing that.
Edit: Except for the MFY's of course.

Who will stop them?
A team that can actually score runs.

Got to give the Rockies some credit for that. And it's not like they don't score runs themselves. Their big bats have vanished this series, and they're still scoring enough runs to win.A team that can actually score runs.

A team that can actually score runs.
Like, say, the Phillies who scored 892 of them this year? Phils only plated 8 in the ALDS.
Or perhaps the Yankees (968) who put up just 5 runs in getting swept in three games at Coors in June? Fogg and Francis each gave up just 1 run.
Or maybe the Red Sox (867) who lost two of three to the Rockies at Fenway (scoring only 5 runs)? The Rockies tagged both Schilling and Beckett for 6 runs and gave Beckett his first loss of the season. Fogg allowed 2 runs. Francis 1.
Go easy on the NL-sucks hubris. The Rockies are a dangerous team with nothing to lose.
