So what is the deal on this one? Didn't look like tarp was on the field, so they're going to play it, despite what looks like heavy showers? Could be ugly...
(I know I could watch TBS's pregame for this info, but...ugh. And they're showing Sox game "highlights." Double ugh.)

temperature could drop to 30 degrees during the game....possibility exists for snow but nothing to delay the game...

And both are better than stupid which he is.

My lord the diamondbacks suck and suck hard.

I'm pulling for the Rockies, but at the same time I'd like to see this series go longer than a sweep. I just hate to see teams roll over and die, especially in the playoffs. Makes things much more boring.

WOW. That was an INCREDIBLE turn by Tulowitski. Turned a bad throw into a run-saving double play.

What the hell is the point of those comments anyway? To add more fuel to the Rockies' furnace? Really just dumb and unnecessary, but nobody accused Byrnes of being clever.

I think it was an attempt to light a fire under his own team's collective asses.

I'm pulling for the Rockies, but I also want to see a series. Sweeps (unless a team I root for is involved on the winning end!) are boring.

This is why they added more off days. Rain delays do wonders for ratings.

Some great defense in this game. First Colorado's double plays, now Salazar and Ojeda!

That was an amazing catch. I can't believe he kept that from hitting the ground.

I am a fan of defense, so I am finding that I am enjoying watching these teams play. However, I am rooting for the Diamondbacks more than the Rockies, so I am kinda bummed at the results thus far.

This doesn't bode well for the Sox the next few days in Cleveland. By which, I mean that the precedent is clear that a steady cold rain will NOT stop play.

Terrible call at first - Matsui was out.

Edit: but flyout by Holliday makes it irrelevant.

Hopefully playing in New England will make the Red Sox the baseball equivalent of a bad weather team.

I don't follow Eric Byrnes or anything, but is it typical for him to stand so far away from the plate? And if so, why? I looked like he was a good 4-5 inches away from the plate.

The Eephus is back.

There is no such thing as a Fake Edit, I am just an idiot who can't figure out how to put a secondary thought into my posts without this crutch: Wow, Torrealba! 4-1 Rockies.

They already plugged Frank TV enough. In fact, they did that by the 5th inning of the first game.

They are unlucky, indeed, though.

Kinda sux that the Sox look to be stuck in the only interesting series. Yes, the mediocrity is much more widespread now.

Are there really still people out there who don't understand the concept of TV ratings? The networks pay a shitload of money for the broadcast rights. Ratings are their singular focus.

Not sure I would've pulled Fogg there. He was only at 76 pitches and cruising.

Games like this only encourage the perception that pitchers like Josh Fogg are actually "good." It's annoying.

One nice thing if the Rockies end up winning this game - everyone will cue the "only team in baseball history to come back from being down 3-0 in a best of 7 series..." bit. Never gets old.

I understand the difference in the amount TBS charges for commercials in prime time as opposed to daytime. I guess it was more of a rhetorical question.
