Cliché I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery: it’s hard to keep it up. After the first 4000 clichés, it requires some literary viagra. Without unsafe google, I might have despaired. But the modern technology and pharmaceutical industries are up to the challenge, earnings-per-share notwithstanding.

The Sox have demonstrated their prowess in game 1. Beckett was dominant, strutting his stuff, toying with the hitters, and saving his best for last. But Sox fans know that the worst defeats come when a team lets up after winning game 1 by a landslide. We won’t permit that. It’s unacceptable: not gonna happen, not on our watch.

The Red Sox have to stay focused, keep within themselves, play to their strengths and build on their advantage. They can't let up, or play it safe. They've got to go for the gold, and give it everything they've got. Forget about the score, and play for the moment. Live for the present, and the future will take care of itself.

G38 pitches today, and he’s Money. Berry Gordy wrote it, everybody sang it, and the Flying Lizards spoke it.

Your lovin’ gives me such a thrill,
But your lovin’ don’t pay my bills.
I want winning – that’s what I want!

Money don’t get everything, it’s true
What it don’t get, I can’t use
11 straight – that’s what I want!

Sabathia obviously didn't scare this offense, so why should Carmona? Knock him out early and let Schilling cruise to victory.

Well, I re-read yesterday's game thread, and I don't think anyone picked up on the fact the home plate umpire was Randy Marsh, so a day late and a $1 short:

And since I believe they're both owned by Disney....how about some "Baseball Bugs" I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery as well? I love the "screaming liner into left field"....sit back and enjoy this classic trip back in time:

It just occurred to me that the ball gets hit to the "Umpire State" Building at the end, and Bugs is wearing a red hat and sleeves...hmmm, and at the end, look who wins! Who do the Gashouse Gorillas remind you of? Maybe the creators of this cartoon were Sox fans, and put a little symbolism in here? Thoughts?

Warner Bros. owns the Looney Toons, not Disney, but that's a great cartoon. I especially like the Bat Bay. Also, I think the Gas House Gorillas are a reference to the Gas House Gang, the 1930s Cardinals who were known for arguing and playing kind of dirty.

Oh, and one other thing:

win.

No, The Man did not write this (But I'm sure he would approve)--I'll post these lyrics in honor of our neighbors to the North -
(So we have Dylan I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery, Band I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery, and Canada I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery. How cliche is that?)

Look out, Cleveland, the storm is comin' through,
And it's runnin' right up on you.
Look out, Houston, There'll be thunder on the hill;
Bye-bye, baby, don't cha lie so still.

Hidin' your money won't do no good,
Build a big wall, you know you would if you could, yeah!
When clouds of warnin' come into view,
It'll get the ol' woman right outta her shoe

'Cause The Big Lug's on the hill tonight...also a warning to Houston not to take Fat Billy back next year....

WIN!

but Curt Schilling's performance is living not only in New England, but also in all around the world.

Just wanna see another his great postseason performance

The last time Fausto Carmona pitched at Fenway Park, I was there. It was a walk-off win, facilitated by Mark Loretta, in which Carmona blew his second consecutive save by allowing Loretta to smack a bases loaded double into LF. This time around, I expect another meltdown, however in the first inning and instead of allowing 2 runs, he will give up >7, much like his like his predecessor, CC Sabathia.

WIN.

So, Robert Wurl (sp?) was at the game last night. He probably went because of my Bull Durham cliche I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery. Since it worked once, gotta keep it going. Take it one game at a time, and, like last night, I think the Sox should continue to hit the ball, throw the ball, catch the ball, not be lolligaggers, and WIN!

If you're going to the game tonight (or know someone who is), it would be great if the fans could get a "FAU----ST----OOOO" chant going before his first pitch. It may rattle him like Lilly was (or may have been) rattled a few years back.

He may be shaky in the first inning or two, it would be great to shake his confidence.

A lot was said after last night's Sox win, including a lot of cliché I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery
that needs to be captured and refocused for a Sox win tonight.

indians:
cc didn't have it, he was just missing.
He had trouble putting them away.
He got away from the gameplan.
He didn't have his best stuff.
cc's heart got in the way and he tried to do a little bit too much.
He just wasn't able to put it all together.

Red Sox:
You've gotta give them credit.
Josh Beckett simply dominated yet again.
He trusted his stuff and didn't give in.
He mixed it up and elevated when he needed to.
He gave us just what we needed.
Got together with Tek, formed a game plan and was tremendously efficient
and consistent in executing it.

As for tonight:

Schilling's a big game pitcher so he'll have to step it up big time.
If he can keep the indians' hitters off balance, the Sox have got a good chance
of building on the momentum they've got coming off of last night's win.
Don't forget that the Sox bats came alive last night as well. If they continue
to perform at that level then the indians are in for a long night.
If the Sox can put the most runs on the scoreboard, they stand a good chance
of coming away with the win. :rolling:

Just focus, execute, dominate, and
WIN!

I'll be joining in late tonight, after family obligations are fulfilled. Until I return...

Curt -- may the power of Jayzus compel you to throw strikes at flailing batters.
Offense -- get hits and runs. Lots of them.
Defense -- catch outs and throw outs. And be clean.

How easy is that? See you in a few.

Curt needs to have his control and that other newfangled C word* going tonight like he did in Anaheim. I trust he will. Carmona has been hot of late and when he's on, he induces a lot of ground balls. So, the Sox need to swing one inch lower on the ball and turn those grounders into line drives. Anybody got any better ideas?

I was on a plane from LA to NY during the 2002 Winter Games and watched curling for most of the flight (I love Jet Blue). I've come to appreciate it. There's a curling club near my folks' place in New Brunswick, but they're not there in the winter, so they've never been inside.
