Boy. I do hate Tony Clark. Unfortunate play (or lack thereof) by Taveras.

I vote that we rename this forum the Non-Red Sox forum since it's not like there are any Yankee game threads to be had any time before spring training.

Are the D-Backs solely wearing black tops tonight to force the Rockies to not wear their black jerseys?

When was the last time Colorado didn't wear black?

I'd like to see the Diamondbacks slow down the Rockies momentum. They are dangerous with the roll they are on.

My girlfriend asked the same question... just so happens they last wore the stripes on the last day they lost:

Nice work by Ubaldo to get out of that last inning. And Davis while we're at it. He hasn't looked nearly as piss-poor as I expected.

If the D-Backs win this game and get back in the series, that double by Doug Davis will be the reason.

The Rockies had the opportunity to set their rotation any way they wanted. If this guy is their #2 and Josh Fogg is their #3, maybe they won't be that tough.

Tremendous call, and a really smart block of the bag.

Idiot D-Backs fans should begin raining debris on the field in 3... 2.... 1....

Considering how much TBS has invested in promoting it, do you think they're gonna let a little thing like nobody watching, affect their programming decision?

TBS with a shot of Stoudemire in the stands wearing his own jersey. Good stuff.

God I hate Eric Byrnes. That "I threw so hard I couldn't stop myself from rolling over" is a perfect example. What a tool.

And the 3B took a dive worthy of the Italian soccer team. Hint: no red cards in baseball.

Aaaaand... Byrnes does it again on the throw home. That man needs his ass kicked, badly.

Yeah, and it always helped then too. Can't you just imagine Peyton Manning dropping back to pass, throwing one deep, and launching himself into a somersault?

Matsui might take the cake in that he invariably loses his hat too.

But only Byrnes makes me want to jump through the tv and smack him with a 2x4 when he does it. Holdover from 2003 I suppose.

on topic... this is the kind of game that AZ is supposed to be good at, given their 1-run win magic this season. Wonder if it will hold.

Wow. One of my favorite memories of Pedro was seeing him start off a game against the Mariners with 3 Ks on 9 pitches. Never seen that happen any other time (though there are a few occasions where it has happened, it is very rare).

Tonight C.C. struck out the Sox on 11, and now Pena strikes out the Colorado Rockies on 10.

Weell.....I think the problem is, you have to be UP by 1 to get a one run win.

I think it's pretty hilarious that Tony Clark looks to be a big factor in the series. We'll always have our beloved moments of him. Maybe we can have some more.

Mr. Guido- I'd pay serious money to see Manning do that.

That's gonna put a serious crimp in any discussion of the Oil Can Boyd and the Brockton Colorado Rockies.

Hard to believe these Diamondbacks swept anyone in the NLDS let alone have the best record in the NL.

The NL must suck worse than I thought...

...or the Cubs were that bad.

It's sorta weird. Everyone was expecting the AL game to be a pitchers duel and this one to be a slugging duel. Turned out the other way around.

Sorta reminded me of Hinske's, although his a little harder, as it was going back; but , isn't Tavares one of those fast guys?, while Hinske...isn't.

Any reason why Melvin is letting dregs like Snyder and Ojeda bat instead of sending up Cirillo, Jackson and/or Owings?

Snyder & Varitek put up basically the same stat lines this year. Jeff Cirillo posted an OPS+ that was basically the same as Alex Cora's. You be the judge.

Oops... and Conor Jackson was already used as a pinch hitter.. flew to center.

Nice to know JD isn't the only Drew sucking ass these days.

How could you NOT pay attention at a time like this and leave the base? That was Chris Webber-esque in its stupidity.

I mean, he was FACING THE UMP WHEN HE GAVE THE SAFE CALL. Jesus, what a fucking bonehead...
